Niko’s AFL Supercoach Watchlist: Buy, Hold, Sell round 10


<p>A disaster 2201 in round 9 saw me lose all my league matchups and slide massively in the overall ranks.</p>



<p>The only good thing was buying Bont at his cheapest price and him dropping a 163 for good measure.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>



<p>The bad was the omission of Todd Marshall and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, both in my defensive line, which meant I only had 22 players on field and no way around it.</p>



<p>This meant all of Nick Daicos 67, Kozi Pickett 65, Justin McInerney 64, Matteus Phillipou 58, Jacob Farrow 48 and Samuel Cumming 32 all counted.</p>



<p>I’m licking my wounds, but the luck must change, at least with getting the right rookies on field for once.</p>

<p><strong>Liam&nbsp;Henry ($160,700 St Kilda&nbsp;Forward, B/E -47)</strong></p>



<p>In his seventh season so not your typical rookie priced player.&nbsp; Great job security provided he’s fit, which is rare for this time of year, and has shown he can average 70+ in a season.&nbsp; Easy pick.</p>



<p><strong>Hugh&nbsp;McCluggage ($474,500 Brisbane MID, B/E 77)</strong></p>



<p>Yes, the time is right now.&nbsp; TOG jumped (close to 80%) as did his CBA’s.&nbsp; Great bye also.&nbsp; They’ve been cautious with him, but the reigns are about to be let loose.</p>



<p><strong>Dayne&nbsp;Zorko ($458,600 Brisbane DEF, B/E 83)</strong></p>



<p>His injury affected 36 will be out of his scoring cycle after this week.  Still a top liner in defence with majority kick outs.  Poor last term cost him a good score against the Blues.</p>

<p><strong>Finn&nbsp;Callaghan ($488,300 GWS Giants MID, B/E 85)</strong></p>



<p>If you waited a week, I’m not sure if he showed enough to buy in, but for me I’m backing previous scoring power and a matchup against the Eagles to get that going again.</p>



<p><strong>Marcus&nbsp;Bontempelli ($612,100 Western Bulldogs MID, B/E 89)</strong></p>



<p>We know he’s sore and might get managed minutes, or even miss a game, but it just looks like normal Bont out there with some knee strapping.</p>

<p><strong>Darragh Joyce ($119,900 Brisbane&nbsp;Defender, B/E -44)</strong></p>



<p>He’s been around the traps for a while now and he’s only been a bit part player.&nbsp; With some reinforcements due, I dare say he’ll be out of the team soon enough again.&nbsp; Don’t force a downgrade target, wait for a rookie defender to pop up.</p>



<p><strong>Wade&nbsp;Derksen ($99,100 Carlton DEF, B/E -33)</strong></p>



<p>Watch for the teams with this one as he kicked 5 snags in the VFL.&nbsp; Not sure he can do anywhere near that in the AFL system but he’s a watch.</p>



<p><strong>Nik&nbsp;Cox ($134,600 Essendon MID, B/E -13)</strong></p>



<p>Not convinced he’s doing enough to be a good selection for us.</p>

<p>It looked like he was left out purely as there was no matchup.&nbsp; A couple of injuries helps his cause getting back in.</p>



<p><strong>Izak&nbsp;Rankine ($463,800 Adelaide&nbsp;MID/FWD, B/E 42)</strong></p>



<p>The role has significantly improved but I’m happy to wait for after his round 12 bye.</p>



<p><strong>Lachlan&nbsp;McAndrew ($377,600 Adelaide RUC, B/E 53)</strong></p>



<p>He’s still making money and we need to wait for the Grundy types to bottom out.</p>

<p>His on-field scoring is still good enough.&nbsp; I don’t mind if his price stagnates or starts dropping.</p>



<p><strong>Archie&nbsp;Roberts ($597,500 Essendon DEF, B/E 110)</strong></p>



<p>At this point, for non-owners like me, we just need to wait for a stinker and his price to free fall.</p>

<p><strong>Tanner&nbsp;Bruhn ($392,200 Geelong MID, B/E 89)</strong></p>



<p>Played a lot more forward this week and again barely any CBAs.&nbsp; Role and form is not good enough to hold, he should go sooner rather than later.</p>



<p><strong>Willem&nbsp;Duursma ($402,900 West Coast MID, B/E 85)</strong></p>



<p>Has earnt owners $200k and he’s ripe to upgrade from.&nbsp; It’s only $70k to get to McCluggage.</p>



<p><strong>Jacob&nbsp;Farrow ($299,100 Essendon DEF, B/E 80)</strong></p>



<p>Not a great game from him, despite going at 100% disposal efficiency.  The biggest issue was his very poor start and metres gained which was in the negatives.  Clearly a good trade out, but only if you can go up.</p>

<p>No CBAs, no contested ball, no real scoring power unless he kicks goals.&nbsp; He’s made enough to say goodbye.</p>



<p><strong>Oscar Steene ($222,200 Collingwood RUC/FWD, B/E 49)</strong></p>



<p>If he’s getting a 30 score against a favourable ruck matchup, then I’m done.  He’s not giving me any emergency scores to loop with, nor is he giving me appropriate ruck cover in case of injury.  I’ll take his $100k profit and move on.</p>
