AFL Supercoach 2026: Bandit's Skipper's - Round 2


<p>Round 1 was somewhat of a mixed bag for SuperCoach – those who paid up for Marcus Bontempelli were duly rewarded with a massive score of 160 and those who backed in Christian Petracca also would have been stoked with a 152.</p>



<p>On the flipside of that, popular captain option Zak Butters failed to fire, scoring just 94 and putting many coaches on the back foot. So where are we looking this week?</p>

<p><strong>Tim English</strong> – L3 vs ADEL: 98, 85, 118</p>



<p>Has started the season in fine form with 117 and 127 from his first two games. Lachie McAndrew was a tough match up for Darcy Cameron last week, but English has a few more strings to his bow than Cameron in terms of getting involved around the ground so I’m backing him to deliver another solid score.</p>



<p><strong>Marcus Bontempelli – </strong>L3 vs ADEL: 174, 119, 112</p>



<p>If you own Bontempelli, you’d be silly not to VC him again this week. In his last three games against Adelaide, he averages 135!</p>

<p><strong>Christian Petracca – </strong>L3 vs RICH: 129, 93, 104</p>



<p>If you were to judge every player to this point in the season, he’s probably the best player in the comp right now. Many coaches would be hoping that he’ll put up another big score against the Tigers this week, myself included.</p>



<p><strong>Noah Anderson – </strong>L3 vs RICH: 147, 105, 122</p>



<p>Almost went under the radar somewhat last week after the performance of Petracca, but a 132 is certainly nothing to sneeze at. All clear of concussion after a late collision last week, so if you’re an owner I think he’s a great point of difference play this week. </p>

<p><strong>Jack Sinclair – </strong>L3 vs GWS: 136, 108, 89</p>



<p>Sinclair has started the season in cracking form, backing up an Opening Round 143 with a 123 against Melbourne. Has a good score to his name in his most recent outing against GWS who leaked a lot of points from the back half last week against the Dogs.</p>



<p><strong>Zak Butters – </strong>L3 vs ESS: 119, 109, 125</p>



<p>Coaches would be feeling a bit disappointed with the first up run, but really that was impacted by one bad quarter. The Hawks piled on the SC points against the Essendon midfield last week and with no obvious tag option for Butters, I’m backing him to bounce back.</p>

<p><strong>Tristan Xerri </strong>– L3 vs WCE: 153, 185, 131</p>



<p>If you’ve held the faith with Xerri over the pre-season, he could reward you massively this week. Averaging a whopping 156 against the Eagles in his last three, this match up is perfect for Xerri. If I was an owner, I’d be locking him in as captain.</p>



<p><strong>Harry Sheezel </strong>– L3 vs WCE: 137, 122, 129</p>



<p>Seems a bit of an under the radar selection with how consistent he’s become as a player, but his record against West Coast in recent times is first class. Is this the year where he becomes a legitimate captaincy option week to week?</p>
