Niko's binoculars: Keeping an eye on trades, breakevens, and tags, Round 3


<p>A score of 2127 for me in round 2 which was above the average score but below par overall, ultimately resulting in a rank slide.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Sitting on my hands and not trading in the likes of Nick Daicos early really hurt me.&nbsp;</p>



<p>I did however avoid potential knee jerk reactions, like trading out Rory Laird.&nbsp;</p>



<p>I’m glad I stuck to my guns, held faith, and even captained him again.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>



<p>Tanner Bruhn backed up his poor performance (and role) in round 1 and needs to go, Shrek Darcy on -5sc at half time suggests he needs the same treatment, plus there’s Hopper’s injury concern and Callaghan’s role to worry about.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Boost, boost, and boost again.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Who I&#8217;m Watching</strong></h2>



<p><strong><br>Tim English (RUC $581,000) </strong>– I wish I started him now.&nbsp; Has been close to 100 at half time both weeks.&nbsp; Looks dominant and just needs to avoid injuries to be the clear #1 ruck at seasons end.</p>



<p><strong>Luke Davies-Uniake (MID $557,400) </strong>– Backed up his 143sc from last week with another monster score of 155sc.&nbsp; I had him in nearly all pre-season up until his poor practice match so watching this hurts and I’m sure I’m not alone.&nbsp; No doubting he is the real deal, but the Kangas have won twice though which obviously won’t be the norm.</p>



<p><strong>The $500k defenders minus Daniel Rioli and Hayden Young </strong>– Luke Ryan and Brennan Cox again gone huge and Nick Daicos doing freak things and is looking like the must-have.&nbsp; I think I need one from this bracket and it might be as simple as Ridley to Nick as a correction. I’m not sure I trust those Freo defenders just yet.&nbsp; Not sure why I started Ridley over Nick as a Magpie supporter.</p>



<p><strong>Errol Gulden (MID/FWD $472,000) – </strong>Close to must-have but not quite there.&nbsp; Congratulations if you started him, but it was probably at the expense of Cogs.&nbsp; I think I can get a similar output for less money elsewhere.</p>

<p><strong>Darcy Cameron (RUC/FWD $465,900)</strong> – Looks like he is the clear #1 ruck at the Pies which we all weren’t too sure about going into round 1 so naturally we all stayed away.&nbsp; Goodbye Shrek, hello Darcy Cam who actually moves around the ground well and scores points for fun.</p>



<p><strong>Will Setterfield (MID $348,200)</strong> – I have him in draft and he got me the W when it all looked lost.&nbsp; Has always done well when presented with the opportunity of bulk mid minutes.&nbsp; The Blues midfield was too stacked, but he’s the perfect fit for the Bombers and it’s showing in his scores.&nbsp; Role is crazy good to steal Dwayne Russell’s favourite term.</p>



<p><strong>Jack Ziebell (FWD $356,400) </strong>– This is the guy who I think can maybe match Errol.&nbsp; 102 last week and 123 this week.&nbsp; Back to his 2021 best and will give me defensive swing capability, together with Sheezel, after round 6.</p>



<p><strong>Kade Chandler (FWD $123,900) </strong>– Has looked clean and good.&nbsp; If you need a FWD rookie look no further.&nbsp; I’m just not sold on his job security yet and will likely watch this ship sail away.</p>

<p><strong>Luke Davies-Uniake / Harry Sheezel </strong>&#8211; I think Finn Maginness from Hawthorn will go to one of these two on the weekend, and he&#8217;s usually very good at limiting opponents scores.&nbsp; Hopefully it’s to LDU as I don’t have him.</p>



<p><strong>Darcy Parish / Zach Merrett </strong>&#8211; I&#8217;m not sure who Marcus Windhager will go to but I&#8217;m pretty sure it won&#8217;t be Setterfield.</p>



<p><strong>Nick Daicos </strong>&#8211; Port tried to go with him but he blew them away, particularly Lachie Jones.&nbsp; Not sure Richmond bother, but maybe someone like Baker could get a job.&nbsp; A decent VC shout if you don’t go Bont or Neale/Dunkley.</p>
