NRL Supercoach Draft 2026 | Positional draft rankings


<p>Below is a quick snapshot of Max and Steve’s combined thoughts and rankings for every Supercoach position heading into 2026. </p>



<p>We’ve included both of our perspectives to highlight where our rankings differ. </p>



<p>As roles shift and scoring evolves, certain positions have thinned out while others have become deeper than ever, creating clear strategic advantages depending on where you draft.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>HOK</strong></h2>



<p>We think hooker is one of the trickiest positions this year. </p>



<p>The new scoring system may lift tackle and try‑assist potential, but the 6‑man bench likely kills most 80‑minute options. </p>



<p>Grant and Brailey stand above the pack. </p>



<p>The difference between the 3rd and 10th hooker isn’t that big, so if you miss the top two, it’s often smarter to wait and opportunistically take value.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>FRF</strong></h2>



<p>We think front row should benefit from increased tackle counting, making Haas a safer top‑end pick than ever. </p>



<p>May and Koloamatangi have genuine early‑round upside, but the position is deep enough that you don’t need to reach. </p>



<p>Waivers will often provide 50+ scorers.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>2RF</strong></h2>



<p>We think there’s a widening gap at the top, with only a select few capable of pushing genuinely elite averages. </p>



<p>The position falls off a cliff after 20 name especially when it comes to 80‑minute roles. </p>



<p>Dual‑position players like Hopgood or Couchman become very handy, and prioritising one premium 2RF before the position thins out dramatically around Round 7–8 makes sense. </p>



<p>The new scoring system does lift the mid‑range forwards, but the scoring potential of edge backrowers still is the big draw card.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>HFB </strong></h2>



<p>We think halfback is top‑heavy but still has surprisingly decent depth. </p>



<p>The elite few will go early, but serviceable options remain deep into drafts. </p>



<p>Even the 11/12th‑ranked halfback (Doueihi) averaged 57 last year, which is more than playable. </p>



<p>It’s a position where you don’t need to reach unless you’re chasing a genuine gun, and you can draft confidently at almost any point without falling behind.</p>

<p>We think five‑eighth is one of the weakest positions in 2026. </p>



<p>While there are breakout candidates, the floor is low and the volatility high. </p>



<p>Don’t overdraft this position; you can take this position late.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>CTW</strong></h2>



<p>We think CTW is deeper and stronger than ever under the new scoring system. </p>



<p>Higher floors and more consistent involvement have pushed several players into early‑round consideration. </p>



<p>The depth is so good that even outside the top 12, you can find strong options, and some big‑name omissions show how competitive the position is. </p>



<p>Our strategy is to land one genuine gun early, then leave the position for a while as we shore up weaker roles.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>FLB </strong></h2>



<p>We think fullback remains a premium position. </p>



<p>It was the highest‑scoring role in Supercoach last season and still deserves early attention. </p>



<p>There’s a clear elite range that sits well above the pack, but there’s also some sneaky depth depending on league size. </p>



<p>Prioritising one of the elite options maximises both upside and weekly enjoyment; if you miss them, you can still find solid contributors later.</p>
