The GW23-28 Smokey Special I Supercoach EPL Players with no Ownership

When is the last time someone recommended you two players that literally no-one in the top 5% owns, have incredible base stats, and great fixtures coming up?



The next couple of weeks see a turn in the fixtures for a few teams. Get ahead of the pack and enjoy the points.



My team is stagnating &#8211; yo-yoing between 434 and 585 over the last seven weeks. Can&#8217;t string two solid weeks in a row. These five teams are how I&#8217;m changing that.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tier 1: The Elite Play</h2>



Chelsea



Anyone playing four of the bottom five clubs in six weeks is a team to target. When it&#8217;s Chelsea doing it? Load up.



Palace, West Ham, Wolves, Leeds, Burnley, Arsenal from GW23-28. West Ham, Wolves, Leeds, Burnley &#8211; four of the bottom five teams in the league. This isn&#8217;t a punt. This is backing the obvious.



Defenders: Chalobah vs Cucurella



Chalobah (£6.32) has better base stats and xG. Can see him scoring from a set piece over these fixtures, and expect him to pull in great base stats versus Palace. Higher floor, genuine goal threat.



Cucurella (£4.82) has a lower floor but way more assist potential. Cheaper, more explosive upside.



I&#8217;m more on the Chalobah bandwagon, but don&#8217;t think you can go wrong with either. Pick based on your team structure &#8211; need budget? Cucurella. Want reliability? Chalobah.



Midfielders: Enzo Over Palmer



I&#8217;m pro Enzo (£10.28) over Palmer (£7.41). Enzo&#8217;s minutes per xGI is 152 compared to 195 for Palmer this season. Every 152 minutes, Enzo is expected to return. Palmer needs 195.



Yes, the pens are good for Palmer &#8211; maybe I&#8217;m scarred thanks to Szoboszlai on the weekend. But all I read is about how Palmer is still sore and I don&#8217;t really want another minutes risk player. Enzo plays, Enzo returns, Enzo spends less time on the pine.



Back the certainty.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tier 2: The Value Plays</h2>



That&#8217;s the elite play sorted. Now for the value.



Palace



Chelsea, Forest, Brighton, Burnley, Wolves, United from GW23-28.



They&#8217;ve been struggling with fixture congestion and lack of players &#8211; injury plus AFCON. Losing Guehi (£6.11) to City is a big loss.



I want to see improvement before fully committing, but Tyrick Mitchell (£5.43) is worth watching. High average despite only one attacking return &#8211; all base stats and clean sheet points. If they show up against Forest, he&#8217;s a target from GW24 onwards.



Munoz (£13.48) &#8211; I&#8217;m counting the days until he&#8217;s back fit and healthy. I missed his points earlier in the year. I won&#8217;t be missing them this time. When he&#8217;s fit, he&#8217;s essential.



Brighton



Fulham, Everton, Palace, Villa, Brentford, Forest. I&#8217;m expecting two to three clean sheets in this run.



Van Hecke (£8.82) is my guy. Not owned him in Supercoach, but been watching him closely since I got him in FPL. Loves a base stat and somehow jags attacking returns he&#8217;s got no business getting.



Palace, Villa, Brentford and Everton give up loads of defensive contribution points. Expect van Hecke to increase his count over these weeks. Only 4.2% owned in the top 5%. Could be a nice differential to get you up the ranks.



Bournemouth



Liverpool, Wolves, Villa, Everton, West Ham, Sunderland. Liverpool in GW23 is tough, but from GW24 onwards? Load up.



Senesi (£6.71) is the obvious pick. He&#8217;ll continue to rack up base stats and if Bournemouth stop being so leaky with these fixtures, plenty of double-digit hauls are coming.



But there might be another player with even higher base stats. James Hill (£5.31). Scored 7, 7, 6, 8 over the last four. Would have been 9, 11, 8, 8 except for negative goals conceded points.



Zero &#8211; I repeat zero &#8211; owners in the top 5%. I&#8217;m going to watch him closely versus Liverpool this week. I might get him over Senesi next week.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tier 3: The Smokey</h2>



Wolves



Only one fixture matters for Wolves right now &#8211; the potential double gameweek.



GW26 is the expected double: Forest (A), Arsenal (H). Two games in one week while everyone else plays once. If you own Wolves defenders during a double, you&#8217;re banking two lots of points while your rivals get one.



Mateus Mane (£7.04) &#8211; two goals in the last three weeks. Pretty decent for Wolves.



Mosquera (£7.50) &#8211; zero owners in the top 5%. Don&#8217;t tell me I don&#8217;t give you smokeys. Five-week average of 9.6 thanks to an increasingly better defence and high base stats. Even scored 11 against United without a clean sheet &#8211; four points from tackles alone.



If they get the double, I&#8217;ll legit own him.



Here&#8217;s the kicker: in the last six weeks, Wolves&#8217; expected goals conceded is almost the same as Arsenal&#8217;s &#8211; 5.66 versus 5.74. They&#8217;ve honestly turned a corner with the new manager. And they played Arsenal, Liverpool, United, Newcastle in those six weeks.



Not bad at all.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">My Plan</h2>



Save your trades this week. Only City are expected to score above two goals, and they&#8217;re the only team with 40% clean sheet odds. Nothing screaming urgent.



Next week is when I&#8217;ll be jumping on one of these players, plus Bruno (£15.69). Bruno&#8217;s on a 16 breakeven with Arsenal (A) this week &#8211; difficult fixture. But he looked incredible back playing the 10 last week. Target him after Arsenal.



My actual moves next week? Grabbing one of the Chelsea or Bournemouth boys depending on how leaky Bournemouth look against Liverpool. If we get a Wolves double announcement, it might be Mosquera instead. Whoever gets me the funds I need for Bruno.
