Arsenal losing to Southampton has thrown the doubles into a shambles. 



I was hoping they&#8217;d double. It would&#8217;ve put pressure on squads with no trades, and frankly, it would&#8217;ve made my Thiaw trade look a lot less embarrassing. 



Bought him in last round, missed the news he was coming off the bench because I was too busy being salty about my AFL SuperCoach disaster. 



He came on, had a goal disallowed, and I got nothing. Arsenal didn&#8217;t double. Great week all round.

But the rest of the picture is clear enough. We know who doubles, who blanks, and roughly when.



That means right now, before GW32 locks, is when you build your plan. Get this wrong, and you&#8217;re scrambling for trades in the final weeks when everyone else already got their doubles in.



Here&#8217;s the full breakdown.

Six teams double in GW33, then all six blank in GW34. 



City and Palace are highly likely to double in GW36, though confirmation is still pending. 



That&#8217;s the whole picture. Plan around it.



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">GW33 Targets: Ranked by Priority</h3>



Here&#8217;s how I&#8217;m thinking about each of the doubling teams.

Man City: The Must-Haves



Three City assets is the play, and not just for GW33. City and Palace are highly likely to double again in GW36, so every City player you own is buying you two doubles. 



Every other team in GW33 only gets you one. That&#8217;s the real reason you load up on City.



Haaland (£9.7m): Lock. After that FA Cup performance against Liverpool, there&#8217;s no debate. 



He&#8217;s the safest captaincy option for the round.



Semenyo (£10.17m): Averaging 10.2 over the last five weeks, one of the most consistent scorers in the game. He&#8217;s close to a lock. 



One caveat, though: City&#8217;s first GW33 game falls on a Monday morning Australian time, last of all the doublers to lock. 



If Semenyo doesn&#8217;t start, you won&#8217;t be able to pivot and buy a different City forward instead. Low likelihood, but just know the option won&#8217;t be there if it happens.

O&#8217;Reilly (£11.63m): 12.2 average over five weeks, two goals against Newcastle recently, and loves getting into the box. He&#8217;s the&nbsp;ideal&nbsp;third City pick,&nbsp;but will put a stretch on funds.



Cherki (£6.78m) is the POD option if you know he&#8217;s starting and need a budget differential. 



Guehi (£8.36m) is the safest defensive pick, the one most likely to see out 90 minutes in both games.



City have Chelsea this week. If you can wait until after GW32 to bring them in, do it. 



City are expected to score 1.77 goals against Chelsea, top five in the round, so going early isn&#8217;t the disaster it looks on paper.



Chelsea: Underrated Double, Good Targets



Chelsea are flying under the radar here and shouldn&#8217;t be.

Brighton and Man Utd in the double aren&#8217;t world-beaters, but this is a strong side with genuine attacking quality. 



Don&#8217;t let the tough GW32 fixture against City put you off the players entirely.



Palmer (£10.91m): The standout pick. Creative, involved in everything, and seems to be over his injury concerns, there&#8217;s a real platform for attacking returns. 



He&#8217;s the Chelsea asset if you can only pick one.



Pedro (£13.54m): Honestly, at that price, I&#8217;d rather have Semenyo. But if you can fit both in your squad, go for it. 



The double fixtures suit him, and the ceiling is there.



The only reason to hold off is GW32. Chelsea face City away, so wait until that fixture clears before pulling the trigger.

Leeds: Best Fixtures, Injury Caveat



Leeds have the best double fixture of the six teams. Wolves and Bournemouth, fighting for their Premier League lives. They&#8217;ll be up for it.



Stach (£10.96m): He&#8217;s everywhere, and the price is fair for what he produces. 



The problem is an ankle injury that has him doubtful for GW32. If he misses this week, you&#8217;re nervous about his availability in GW33. 



With trades at a premium, that uncertainty is a real concern.



DCL (£5.07m): He was £12.2m back in GW18 and is now a walking POD. Binary player: big double-digit haul or a 2. 



If you want pure value and can handle the variance, he&#8217;s the most interesting cheap forward in the double.

Brighton: Only If You&#8217;re Buying This Week



Brighton&#8217;s double fixtures are Tottenham and Chelsea. Not the worst, not the best. 



They&#8217;re only worth targeting if you&#8217;re buying this week to catch the easy Burnley fixture. No point waiting until next week.



van Hecke (£9.46m) or Verbruggen (£5.7m) for the defensive angle. 



Welbeck (£7.45m) has the highest ceiling of their attackers, but a benching in the double is a real risk. The upside has to justify the minutes&#8217; concern. 



In midfield, Groß (£9.14m) is a slight edge over Gomez (£9.24m) and Minteh (£6.11m), but it&#8217;s a coin flip.

Bournemouth: Avoid This Week



Bournemouth face Arsenal away in GW32. Don&#8217;t buy before that fixture clears. 



Senesi (£9.3m), Hill (£11.94m), and Tavernier (£8.4m) are all quality options for next week. But wait.



Burnley: Just Don&#8217;t.



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Trade Strategy</h3>



Your three City players will sit on your bench in GW34. 



If you happen to have a doubling GK, that&#8217;s a nice bonus. But don&#8217;t trade one in just to get an extra double gameweek player. 



Whoever is on your bench, make sure it&#8217;s City. Don&#8217;t waste a bench spot on a non-City doubler.

If you&#8217;re bringing in extra doublers beyond City for GW33, know that you&#8217;re trading them back out in GW34. 



That&#8217;s two trades for one extra double gameweek fixture. Worth it if you have the trades to burn, not worth it if you&#8217;re running lean.



GW36 is coming. City and Palace are highly likely to double again; confirmation is still pending. 



You need trades available for that window, and ammunition for the final weeks when rotation carnage hits, and squads start phoning it in.



•&nbsp;Under 5 trades:&nbsp;Get your City triple and nothing else. That&#8217;s the job. Every trade beyond that is one less bullet for the run home.



•&nbsp;5 to 10 trades:&nbsp;City triple locked. You can flirt with one extra doubler. Palmer or DCL are the picks. But go in with eyes open, that&#8217;s two trades for one extra fixture.



• Above 10 trades: This is why you saved them. Get the City triple, then go after the Leeds and Chelsea options next week when their GW32 fixtures are done. You&#8217;ve got the firepower, use it.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">My Plan</h3>



I currently have Cucurella and Haaland from the doubling teams. This week I&#8217;m holding. 



I&#8217;d love to get Semenyo now, but I can&#8217;t do it in one move, so I&#8217;m keeping my options open and going hard next week. 



Brighton are the only other doublers with a decent fixture this week, and I don&#8217;t want them badly enough to prioritise over what&#8217;s coming in GW33.



So GW33 is when I move. Two or three transfers, Semenyo and O&#8217;Reilly at minimum, taking me from seven trades down to four or five. 



Cucurella gets traded out in GW34, leaving me with trades in the bank for the GW36 doubles and the inevitable final-weeks carnage.



The Palmer question is real. He&#8217;s the obvious extra doubler to chase. But going from four trades to two heading into the run home is a stretch. 



The last few weeks always produce carnage. Rotation, players on the beach, teams with nothing to play for. I need those trades.



The picture is clear. Get your City triple, protect your trades, and stay ready for GW36. Don&#8217;t overcomplicate it.
