NBA Supercoach Week 5 | Buy, Hold, Sell

Everyone’s favourite time of the week, where I pretend to know&nbsp;what’s going to happen in the next 7 days of NBA Supercoach based on&nbsp;player form,&nbsp;injury news,&nbsp;upcoming schedules, and an intimate knowledge of&nbsp;2010’s basketball.&nbsp;



Is&nbsp;that all relevant? Only time will tell.&nbsp;



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">BUY</h3>



Nikola Jokic (DEN, C)



After these last two weeks, if you don’t have Jokic,&nbsp;you’re&nbsp;basically playing with a&nbsp;man down.



Averaging video-game numbers&nbsp;with 35 points, 11 assists, and 12 rebounds over the last 15 days,&nbsp;and has a 4-game week incoming. 



He’s the buy of all buys, the crown jewel, the captain’s armband magnet.&nbsp;



Do what you need to do to get him.&nbsp;

James Harden (LAC, PG/SG)



The Beard is cooking,&nbsp;34/10/9 over the past week,&nbsp;which is basically MVP Harden energy disguised in&nbsp;Clippers&nbsp;blue. 



Another 4-game slate is coming, and the usage bump is looking real.&nbsp;



Beal is done for the year (if that matters), Kawhi is his usual “game on-game off” and Father Time seems to have caught up with Chris Paul self, so it’s largely going to be Harden or bust for the foreseeable future&nbsp;at the Intuit Dome.&nbsp;



Jalen Johnson (ATL, SF/PF)



Trae Young is still on the sideline,&nbsp;and Jalen Johnson is out here pretending he’s a Nikola Jokic cosplayer,&nbsp;averaging&nbsp;23&nbsp;points,&nbsp;12&nbsp;rebounds, and&nbsp;10&nbsp;assists&nbsp;this week.&nbsp;



The Hawks&nbsp;won four-straight, and dare we say the&nbsp;offense looks&nbsp;better without Ice Trae,&nbsp;who is still out for&nbsp;multiple weeks,&nbsp;making&nbsp;Johnson a high-end play.

Miles Bridges (CHA, SF/PF)



Someone&nbsp;has to&nbsp;score in Charlotte, and that someone is Bridges, whether LaMelo or Brandon Miller are in or out. 36+ minutes per game, 25/6/4 averages,&nbsp;and a 4-game week coming up. 



He’s the fantasy equivalent of a reliable old&nbsp;ute: not flashy&nbsp;but gets the job done.

Scottie Barnes (TOR, SF/PG)



Scottie&nbsp;and the Raptors are starting to cook. 



Toronto has won 7 of their last 8 and Barnes&nbsp;is averaging&nbsp;19&nbsp;points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and&nbsp;4&nbsp;stocks over&nbsp;that period.&nbsp;



Add in the dual PG/SF eligibility and a tasty 4-game schedule, and you’ve got a top-tier buy.&nbsp;



Tyrese Maxey &amp;&nbsp;VJ&nbsp;Edgecombe (PHI)



High sell rates last week&nbsp;with just the 2 games for Philly, but&nbsp;4 games coming up, and the value is back&nbsp;for&nbsp;possibly the highest owned backcourt in Supercoach.&nbsp;



This is the window to jump back in&nbsp;on one or both&nbsp;of Maxey and Edgecombe&nbsp;before everyone remembers they’re good.

Victor&nbsp;Wembanyama&nbsp;(SAS, C)



<s>A 3-game week both this week and next, but Wemby doesn’t follow human rules. </s>



<s>You hold generational unicorns, especially ones who can drop 5 blocks while tying their shoes.</s>



UPDATE: Sell! Wemby has succumbed to a calf injury and is expected to miss multiple games.



Giannis Antetokounmpo&nbsp;(MIL,&nbsp;PF/C)



Another 3-gamer,&nbsp;but he’s rolling and has back-to-back 4-game weeks coming right after.&nbsp;



Will still be&nbsp;on the podium for total Supercoach points for the season, so don’t&nbsp;ditch the&nbsp;Greek Freak&nbsp;yet, as we’re going to want him straight back next week.



Josh Giddey (CHI,&nbsp;PG/SF)



Returned from a short absence and was sizzling before that. 



The multi-position eligibility is extremely valuable,&nbsp;but with so many 4-game options this week and Coby White returning, it’s reasonable to wait and see how the usage shakes out.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">SELL</h3>



Lakers Players



Only 2 games this week&nbsp;for the Lakers,&nbsp;so a couple of Supercoach darlings&nbsp;need to come out for a breather. 



If you have both Luka and Austin&nbsp;Reaves,&nbsp;then there’s&nbsp;over $37m freed up for you. 



Simply too few games to justify holding unless you’re deeply attached to disappointment.



Rockets Players



Another 2-game week&nbsp;here,&nbsp;which means stars like Sengun, Amen&nbsp;Thompson,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;highly-owned&nbsp;Reed Sheppard&nbsp;confidence are tough sells for this period. 



Great players, bad schedule. 



Time to pivot.



Steph Curry



Only 3 games, and unless he plans to&nbsp;continue&nbsp;dropping&nbsp;45 a night&nbsp;(spoiler&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;he just&nbsp;threw in a&nbsp;9 point&nbsp;stinker vs. New Orleans),&nbsp;this is a rare moment to sell high. 



His hot shooting streak feels like it might cool slightly,&nbsp;and with only three opportunities to deliver, the&nbsp;numbers aren’t in his&nbsp;favour.
