NBA Supercoach | Week 22: Buy, Hold & Sell

Everyone’s favourite time of the week where I pretend to know&nbsp;what’s going to happen in the next 7 days of NBA Supercoach based on&nbsp;player form,&nbsp;injury news,&nbsp;upcoming schedules and an intimate knowledge of&nbsp;2010’s basketball.&nbsp;Is&nbsp;that all relevant? Only time will tell.&nbsp;



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">BUY</h3>



Tyrese Maxey&nbsp;(PHI, PG)



The Sixers&#8217; conductor is back and immediately reminded us why he’s a top 10 Supercoach player this season. 



Maxey returned after missing 10 games with a finger injury, dropping 26 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds in his comeback game. 



That&#8217;s not a rust-shaker, that&#8217;s a statement. 



The Sixers have a favourable homeward stretch, including four games for each of the last two weeks, so get him in now and enjoy the ride.

Daniss Jenkins (DET, PG/SG)



It would be fair to assume that in the absence of the team’s MVP-candidate point guard, results for the Pistons were going to slow down, but Daniss Jenkins has done his best to ensure that it’s business as usual for the Eastern Conference leaders. 



18 PTS, 7 AST, and 4 REB per game over the last 15 days…for a measly $5.4 MILLION SuperCoach dollars?! 



An outrageous return for the 3% of you bold enough to take the plunge so far. 



Cade looks set for another week out at least, meaning it’s not too late to get on board with Daniss the Menace (copyright pending).



Nickeil Alexander-Walker (ATL, SG/SF)



Alexander-Walker has been cooking lately, going back-to-back weeks over the 100-point mark in SuperCoach. 



In fact, he’s been cooking so much that he even outscored his MVP cousin from OKC for Week 21, so I bet he can’t wait to bring that one up at Christmas dinner. 



The Hawks have won an absurd 15 of their last 17 games and have surged into a playoff spot, meaning NAW is likely to continue seeing a steady volume of minutes and opportunities as the regular season closes out. 



At around the $12.5M mark, that’s more than enough to justify a roster spot.

Scottie Barnes (TOR, SF/PG)



Scottie Barnes &#8211; where have you been?! He had 6 x 100+ point performances in the first nine weeks of the season, and then until this week had only had one in the prior seven weeks.



But wow was he back with a bang for Week 21, dropping 144 SC points, which was good enough for 3rd place overall. 



You might feel like you need to see more before trusting him enough to bring in, and the absence of Immanuel Quickley is definitely a factor, but there’s something about his assist numbers being back up around 10 per game that makes it feel like he’s found his groove again. 



Ousmane Dieng&nbsp;(MIL,&nbsp;C/SF)



Just wanted to throw in a deep cut for anyone in the depths of desperation for the last weeks of the season. 



The Bucks are officially out of the playoff / play-in race. 



They’re battling with Giannis about whether he should be done for the year (plus he’s injured now anyway), Kevin Porter Jr looks out for the season, and Bobby Portis is injured too. 



Dieng has been getting more and more minutes throughout the year, and for a meagre $5.6M, he could get a couple of weeks’ worth of starters minutes in garbage games.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">HOLD</h3>



Luka Doncic&nbsp;(LAL, PG)



This guy clearly likes being single more than he’s letting on! 



Whatever is going on in Luka’s private life sounds very tough, but holy smokes, his game has just happened to catch fire at exactly the same time. 



39 / 7 / 7 over the last 15 days, including a 60-piece, a 50-piece, and two 40-pieces…yikes. 



The downside for this week is that he’ll miss a game after picking up his 16th tech for the season, but in current form, you should still hold onto 3 games&#8217; worth of Luka and pray he keeps the flamethrower burning. 



Kawhi Leonard (LAC, SF/PF)



Kawhi is in the same classification as Luka for Week 21, the “will only have three games but is playing so well you don’t feel bad about it” group. 



Leonard deserves serious props for the way he’s kept the Clippers sailing along since the departures of Harden and Zubac, dragging them above .500 and clinching a play-in spot is no mean feat with the roster he was left with.



Sure, he might be getting some under-the-table money that will cripple the organisation moving forward, but until that hammer falls, enjoy another couple of weeks of Klassic Kawhi.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">SELL</h3>



Nikola Jokic (DEN, C)&nbsp;



This will be like pulling a tooth; it might hurt a lot, but it’s the right thing to do. 



Even by his own absurd standards, the big Serbian has been lighting up the SuperCoach board over the last couple of months. 



A lowest score of 107, two scores over the 200 mark, and currently sitting 250 points ahead of anyone else in the game.



 All that said, not even he can be a hold for a two-game week when there are some many other stars playing four games. 



The Nuggets finish with four games in their own in Week 23, so if you’re still playing with a chance to win anything, then he’ll be back for the finale. 



Cade Cunningham&nbsp;(DET,&nbsp;PG/SG)&nbsp;



Really just a public service announcement, as we didn’t have a column last week, but somehow, there are still almost one-quarter of SC managers who still have Cade rostered. 



No, he doesn’t have a season-ending injury, but he’s only due to be “reassessed” next week, which means he’s no certainty to return straight away after that. 



There’s a multitude of guards available with four games this week, so don’t be afraid to cut ties for now.
