Draft Breakdown: Waiver-wire targets, finals week three


<p>Most leagues will be having there preliminary or grand final this weekend.</p>



<p>Congratulations on everyone that has made it this far.</p>



<p>As always, keep a keen eye on people that get desperate and drop quality good players that you can pick up.</p>



<p><strong>Best and worst call last round – </strong>All the waiver targets last week ranged from 44-59 points, so I can’t really say that any were great or bad calls, just some great middling scores. I would not play Luki this week given the lack of minutes.</p>



<p>There’s some good matchups this week and I would only be avoiding Roosters, Souths, Tigers, Dogs and Eels risky players in my waivers and starting team.</p>



<p>Let’s jump into the waiver targets with a bit of a change to the format for the final two rounds, looking at players by each position and available in 65% of leagues.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>HOK options</strong></h2>



<ol type="1"><li><strong>Reuben Cotter – </strong>played 52 minutes in his return from injury last week, with 52 points in base. He has good skills and is the clear number one HOK pick for me. &nbsp;</li><li><strong>Sam Verrills – </strong>has a 3RA of 55PPG and is increasing his base stats but I don’t expect a phenomenal score against Souths this week. Maybe 40+ points.</li></ol>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>FRF options</strong></h2>



<ol type="1"><li><strong>Thomas Flegler </strong>– getting great minutes and opportunities since Matt Lodge left the club.</li><li><strong>Moses Leota </strong>– has a floor around 38 points but also has the ability to score a try, especially against the Tigers.</li><li><strong>Junior Tatola </strong>– consistent player when healthy and should get you 45+ this week.</li></ol>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>2RF options</strong></h2>



<ol type="1"><li><strong>Jordan Riki – &nbsp;</strong>the clear best 2RF option with a 3RA of 53PPG and 5RA of 68PPG and up against the leaky Sharks this weekend.</li><li><strong>Marata Niukore – </strong>playing 80 minutes on the edge, Niukore is a safe option scoring 50 points in base last week.</li><li><strong>Egan Butcher </strong>– could get the starting 2RF spot with his brother injured and has the workrate and skill to be a great SuperCoach player.</li></ol>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>HFB and 5/8 options</strong></h2>



<ol type="1"><li><strong>Braydon Trindall – </strong>coming off a 130 point game and has been consistent since he came into the half role, scoring under 47 points once and having two games with over 100 points.</li><li><strong>Junior Amone – </strong>has so much potential as a young running half and has scored some brilliant individual tries. He should score well against the Cowboys.</li><li><strong>Luke Metcalf – </strong>another young talent that has had some hype around him and scored 95 points last week. I am hesitant in how well he will go against the improved Broncos but he can create with his passing and score with his speed from what we’ve seen so far.</li><li><strong>Albert Kelly – </strong>is averaging 57PPG over six games this season including 20 minutes off the bench and games against the Storm and Roosters (twice). He has great base for a half and shouldn’t let you down.</li></ol>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>CTW options</strong></h2>



<ol type="1"><li><strong>Greg Marzhew – </strong>great base and being used well by Fogarty. Plays the Knights this week. <strong><em>UPDATE: Dropped this week, avoid.</em></strong></li><li><strong>Moses Suli – </strong>up against the Dogs this week and hopefully he keeps his spot. He scored 76 points with 36 points in base without Turbo, imagine what he could do with him. <strong><em>UPDATE: Dropped this week, avoid.</em></strong></li><li><strong>Brent Naden – </strong>relies on tries for his scoring but against the Tigers he could easily score a hat-trick. <strong><em>UPDATE: Dropped this week, avoid.</em></strong></li><li><strong>Mikaele Ravalawa –</strong> benefiting from being outside Lomax and has great potential against the Cowboys.</li><li><strong>Matt Timoko – </strong>scored 90 points against manly with one try-assist and one linebreak assist. The rest of his points were in base (44 points) and tacklebreaks (22 points). What a beast!</li><li><strong>Peta Hiku –</strong> has a 3RA of 63PPG and is consistently involved in the Warriors attack.</li></ol>

<ol type="1"><li><strong>Jayden Campbell – </strong>what a nimble player who won’t be a hard worker but looks great around the ball and has a good matchup against Newcastle.</li><li><strong>Peta Hiku &#8211;</strong> has a 3RA of 63PPG and is consistently involved in the Warriors attack.</li><li><strong>Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow – </strong>another low workrate FLB but is likely to score against the Dragons.</li></ol>
