Draft Breakdown: Waiver-wire + trade targets, Rd 18

Every week we will be looking at players still available in 65% of leagues. There may be better options still available in your league, but this article will be focusing on the players that are likely to be available in most leagues.



Best call last round –&nbsp; Haumole Olakau’atu – Scoring 79 points in a poor Manly performance and retaining his spot as the starting right edge.



Worst call last round– Sam Verrills – Scoring only 33 points in 64 minutes and a few errors. The Roosters are playing Lam on the bench which also means he isn’t likely to play big minutes anytime soon.



We are coming down to the business end of the season with the Draft finals looming and it’s important to look at the finals draw of the players you are considering trading or wavering.

With a number of players backing up from Origin, we need to pay attention to late changes and capitalise on players coming into the side.



These Origin players backing up may also effect who you start in your team. For example, I would be less likely to play Newcastle and Manly outside backs without Ponga or Turbo backing up.



Let’s have a look at the options as we head into the home stretch of the season.

<ol><li>Teig Wilton (2RF)</li></ol>



Wilton has been playing 80 minutes on the Sharks left edge for the last two weeks and could hold that spot until the end of the year.



Wade Graham has not travelled to QLD with the Sharks and I will be surprised if he plays again this season given his concussion issues.&nbsp;



There is always the threat of Talakai taking his spot but given Talakai’s form, particularly in defence, Wilton is the strong front runner.



Wilton has a great workrate and is running some great lines, but probably needs Moylan back feeding him to capitalise as I don’t see Trindall using him that well.



Even without the attacking stats he can give you 50+ each week in pure base stats.



2. Kenny Bromwich (2RF)



I was surprised to see KBrom with such low ownership but I guess we have 2RF options coming out our ears this year and he is only averaging 48 PPG this season.



Still, this average includes an injury affected game and we want any piece of that Storm starting line-up, especially a player that is next to Munster and has the ability to ball play to Josh Addo-Carr.

3. Jake Clifford (5-8/HFB)



Clifford is a great long-term pickup for Draft finals but is going to put out some poor scores in the short-term against Melbourne and the Roosters.



After the next two weeks, Newcastle play the Raiders, Broncos, Sharks, Bulldogs, Titans and Broncos again.&nbsp;



As long as Ponga is in the team and Clifford is kicking goals he is a great option for that run home through Draft finals.

4. Isaac Liu (FRF/2RF)



Liu scored 59 points last week playing 55 minutes, the longest he has been on the field all season.



With no SST named and rumours he may miss some time with a hamstring issue, Liu could continue to see big minutes.



5. Dominic Young (CTW)



Young’s stats don’t look that impressive on paper averaging 50 PPG over four games, including three tries and only 25 BPG.



Like Clifford, he benefits from a great Knights draw and most importantly he is playing left wing and will see many opportunities for some great scores playing outside of Ponga.

6. Fanitesi Niu (CTW/FLB)



Niu is surprisingly averaging 52 PPG in the Broncos line up but since moving to fullback, his work rate and base points have dramatically gone down.



However, he does have more attacking opportunities and against the Tigers this week and other easier matchups he should capitalise on those opportunities.



7. Brent Naden (CTW)



Naden gets another opportunity against the leaky Warriors and potentially the Broncos next week at centre for Penrith.



He looked impressive in his only game against Parramatta, scoring 45 points with 32 points in base. Just watch out for any late changes to the team list.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">TRADE TARGETS</h2>



These are the under or overperforming players you may be able to pick up in a trade cheaply, or sell while peaking in SuperCoach form.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">OUT</h2>



JAMAL FOGARTY 



Fogarty has been in terrific form with a three round average of 100PPG.



The Titans have an okay draw on the run home, and he may continue to score okay with a full side back.



However, in the first two weeks of Draft finals they face the Rabbitohs and Storm.



In his current form you may be able to get a top quality replacement in a trade with a softer Draft finals draw.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">IN</h2>



KODI NIKORIMA



While ambitious, a possible trade target for Fogarty is Kodi Nikorima coming off a shocking 7! 



He was first up from injury which may have impacted his performance. Hopefully the owner of Kodi in your league is put off by the performance.



In Draft head-to-head finals, the Warriors have a dream draw against the Bulldogs, Broncos, Raiders and Titans where he could score very well.



Putting aside last round&#8217;s stinker, Kodi didn&#8217;t have a score under 50 since Round 7 which was against Melbourne.
