Draft Breakdown: Waiver-wire targets, Rd 9

Every week I will be looking at players still available in 65% of leagues. There may be better options still available in your league, but this article will be focusing on the players that are likely to be available in most leagues.



Koloamatangi scored well outside Benji again last week and could even be a hold when Latrell comes back as his role may change given the injury to Murray.



Walsh could be the waiver of the year with the talent he has showed in his first few games. It will be interesting how the Warriors use him when CHT comes back.



Ikuvalu put out some great base and with Brett Morris having an unfortunate ACL injury, he is a great CTW option for the entire season.



Let’s have a look at the options we have this week, ahead of the coming team lists.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">WAIVER-WIRE TARGETS</h2>



Corey Harawira-Naera (2RF)



CHN has put up scores of 45 and 65 in his two games playing 80 minutes on the edge for the Raiders.



He looks good with the ball in hand, looking to offload at any opportunity and provides attacking opportunities that makes up for his lack of base stats.



If the Raiders keep losing his job security may be threatened, but he is a good play as long as he is starting on the edge and has great potential this week against the Newcastle left edge.



Euan Aitken (CTW)



Aitken suffered a syndesmosis injury in the early minutes of round 1.



Despite that, he was still able to play through the game and get 39 points in base stats.



Aitken has always had great base stats, last year he averaged 37BPG, despite playing off the bench for some games and in a struggling Dragons team.



He is due back in the next week or so and is a perfect CTW that won’t let you down because of his amazing base stats. If he gets one attacking play he will score 50+.

Max Feagai (CTW)



Feagai debuted last week for the Dragons, playing on the right wing and scoring 51 points, with 35 points in base stats.



Looking at his NSW Cup stats he gets through a lot of hit ups and he has some great tackle busting potential, so I expect his workrate to continue.



He will hold his position until the Dragons get some players back from injury and has the potential to secure his spot long-term with the hype he has received.



Chanel Harris-Tavita (HFB/5-8)



CHT is another player due back from injury for the Warriors shortly.



He started the season poorly, averaging 32PPG but was affected by a quad injury.



Last year he averaged 48PPG which includes some games from the bench.



Although Walsh is currently playing 5/8, CHT will find his way into the Warriors side and is likely to get the goal-kicking back.

Esan Marsters (CTW)



Marsters has been released from the Cowboys to the Titans.



The Titans have a lot of injuries in their outside backs at the moment and will look to play Marsters this week or next.



Marsters has never played in a good side but is always looking to offload and is threatening in attack.



Whilst I have concerns over his job security with his poor defence, I think his SuperCoach potential is great in a team that is putting on points (even if the Titans can’t defend).
