Watchlist: Positional rankings, team, trade plans, Rd 5


<p><br>Each round of the Big Bash season I’ll reveal my current team and trade plans for the upcoming round.</p>



<p>To do this, I’ll provide a watchlist ranking of every position, listing the players on the edge of cracking into my squad.</p>



<p>I find this a great way to keep myself on track with trades and planning, so I don’t get too caught up in the hype for any player.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Note that if the player is already in my team, they won’t be included in the watchlist rankings.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Round 4 Update</strong></h2>



<p>Nice bounce back for my team The Wendells in round 4, scoring 848 and moving up from 2000th to 850th. I’m happy with how my squad is setup and ready to attack the remainder of the season.</p>

<p>Literally one-way traffic at the WKP position, with Sam Harper not even named in the Renegades’ squad for this round. The only other possible play I can see is to anti-pod Philippe and just roll with Inglis.&nbsp;</p>



<p>I’d advise against though as Philippe has been a Supercoach gun year-on-year. The Sixers also have another double coming up in round 8, so Josh seems a no-brainer.</p>

<p>It’s a round to keep it simple in my view and the Watchlist reflects this. If you don’t own Kerr he’s the top priority being an in-form, genuine allrounder.&nbsp;</p>



<p>James Vince is sub $80k, which is exceptional value for a batsman of his pedigree.</p>



<p>He can be hot and cold, averaging just 26 SC points last season but 49 the season prior. He looks the perfect emergency loop to me.</p>



<p>With so many good bowling options this round though, I’m not sure if it’s worth a trade boost to get him in.</p>



<p>Martin Guptill would be my preferred Renegades’ bat as an explosive option. I’ve removed Shaun Marsh, as I’d like to have seen him play a game prior to this round. Finch is too expensive for my liking at $140k plus and batting at 4.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chris Jordan hasn’t been named in the Sixers squad, which simplifies things a lot.</p>



<p>If you don’t own Ur Rahman, I still like him as a value play at $106k. I’d prefer him over Moody if you can afford it.</p>



<p>Abbott and K Richo are locks for this week in my eyes, given their Supercoach pedigree. Rogers is a nice POD option, but he’s one who I’m prepared to miss with a tough matchup vs the Sixers.</p>



<p>Andrew Tye just keeps on keeping on and I have an eye on him for the single game rounds coming up.&nbsp;</p>
