Money movers: Players to trade/target to up cap value, Round 23

2021 AFL SuperCoach runner-up Steve Nikolovski assesses all the key players set to make big cash, and those set to plummet in value.

AFL

Woodstock ’99 went better than my Supercoach team this season.  Mitch Duncan getting managed for what will be three weeks is a real kick in the guts and has me fielding a full premium team for only one round this season.  Having to field Massimo over Duncan cost me my prelim win last week too.  What a debacle.

Hopefully, you are in your league grand final or battling it out for your best ever overall position.  Let see what moves you can make to really finish the season strong looking at the market and break-evens.

Top Trade in:

  1. Ned Long – Obviously I don’t have much to base this on other than VFL form.  Strong bodied midfielder with great endurance, DPP and at the bargain price.  That’ll do for the bench nicely.

Top Trade in’s:

  1. Tom J Lynch – I flagged him last week and he delivered massively with a 177!  Could easily do something very similar against the Bombers who are in disarray.
  2. Luke Davies-Uniacke – This kid is special.  Should bring up a good score against Gold Coast at home, even though his Marvel numbers are a little hit and miss.
  3. Ollie Wines – Another guy I talked up last week and he got 140.  Big showdown this week and has talked smack during the week.  Expecting another big one.
  4. Sam Docherty – I’m not expecting Hewett to play so he could see some more midfield minutes again.
  5. Patrick Dangerfield – This one is more a gut feel.  I’m expecting a big one against West Coast, especially if he can finally hit the scoreboard properly.

Final Say

We are here, the final round.  Best of luck in your league grand final match-up and overall rank ambitions.  If you’ve got a trade up your sleeve back your gut and trade out someone who may get a tag or has been under-performing.  It could be the difference.

A year to forget for me but I’m hoping to squeeze into the top 10,000 this week and looking forward to a fresh start next season.  It’s been a pleasure writing these articles and I hope you have found them beneficial in some way over the year.
