AFL Supercoach 2026: Bandit's Skippers - Round 10


<p>There were captain scores aplenty last week and most coaches would have finished the round satisfied that they made some good decisions. Marcus Bontempelli (163) continues to dominate despite some injury concerns, and it doesn’t look like he wants to miss a single game. Other popular choices Luke Jackson (141), Max Gawn (134) and Zak Butters (130) stood up and most coaches would have found one of these guys.</p>



<p>Let’s dive into the best options for the week ahead.  </p>

<p><strong>Brodie Gundy – L3 vs COLL: 122, 84, 71</strong></p>



<p>Talk that Darcy Cameron will face a fitness test to get up for this weekend makes me think that Grundy is just an auto VC option. If he’s solo rucking against Steene, I’d be expecting a safe 130 at the minimum.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Zak Butters – L3 vs GCS: 191, 120, 81</strong></p>



<p>Butters’ recent record against the Suns is exceptional and he looks to be the main safe choice again this week. In saying that, he’s never played at TIO Stadium so it’ll be interesting to see how he fares. Should handle the conditions and attention just fine though.</p>

<p><strong>Christian Petracca – L3 vs PA: 68, 97, 103</strong></p>



<p>If for whatever reason you don’t own Butters or prefer to look elsewhere, Petracca could get off the chain this week. Yes his record against the Power doesn’t scream ‘pick me’ but after being well held against the Saints last week, he’ll want to bounce back.</p>



<p><strong>Tristan Xerri – L3 vs ADEL: 189, 89, 103</strong></p>



<p>Xerri has dominated the Crows in recent times and if you’re one of the 20% who own him I’d be super keen to have him onside as a point of difference option this week. North should be heading to Adelaide thinking they can win this game, and they’ll need a big game out of X to do it.</p>

<p><strong>Max Gawn – L3 vs HAW: 145, 142, 113</strong></p>



<p>Make no mistake, Max loves playing the Hawks. So much so he averages a massive 132 against them across his career! It won’t be an easy match up with both sides likely playing two rucks, but if your early VC falls over you must go with the guys who have an elite track record and Gawn has that against Hawthorn.</p>



<p><strong>Marcus Bontempelli – Last 3 vs CARL: 108, 112, 105</strong></p>



<p>A modest recent record by Bont’s standards in recent times against the Blues, but I think this is suddenly a bit of a danger game for the Dogs as Carlton release the shackles under a interim coach. They need a big game out of Bont to make sure they don’t drop a game that they shouldn’t.</p>

<p><strong>Luke Jackson – L3 vs ESS: 186, 48, 134</strong></p>



<p>Two monster scores in his last three games against Essendon and with the form Jackson is in you just about have the C on him this week. Freo should be expecting to win this game and win well, so LJ should have a big role to play.</p>



<p><strong>Lachie Whitfield – L3 vs WC: 148, 124, 110</strong></p>



<p>Whitfield gets the perfect setup this week – a good recent record against the Eagles who are a good set up for designated kickers and he’s had a monopoly on the back half distributing now that Ash has been moved into the midfield. Would probably have preferred him to be a VC but if you need a point of difference captain for a league match up, he could be your guy. </p>
