The Corridor | AFL Supercoach Round 8, everything you need to know


<p>Round 7 was once again a mixed week for Supercoach, with anything over 2220 probably being a par score for the week.</p>



<p>There were some big scores around the grounds, mainly from the premium rucks, while other premiums struggled and look set to leak some serious cash.</p>



<p>Consistency appears to be a rarity this season, so finding some consistent options may be your forumla to success.</p>



<p>While we continue to upgrade our rookies who have peaked, another obstacle is upcoming with the mid-season byes beggining in round 12, just a month away.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>AFL ROUND 7 RAPID RECAP</strong></h3>



<p>In case you didn&#8217;t get to catch much footy in round 7, here is my rapid recap of the last week of footy:</p>



<p>Grundy (151) started off the round with a bang against an English-less Dogs side. Despite the convincing loss, the Bont (135) recovered well with a huge score.</p>



<p>Another Kozzy (129) masterclass on Friday night. Gawn (105) underwhelmed in new ruck-forward hybrid role.</p>



<p>Newcombe (136) stood up for the Hawks again, while Trac (111) was solid despite the loss.</p>



<p>Not SC relevant but can&#8217;t dismiss Sir Pendlebury&#8217;s (148) masterclass. The rollercoast of Houston (116) hit a high while Roberts (140) continues to farm.</p>

<p>A surprise victory for Port over Geelong in a quiet SC scoring game. Stewart (115) bounced back while Butters (112) remained solid. First sub 100 score of the season so far for Holmes (80).</p>



<p>Jackson (147) and Bolton (142) went massive for Freo while Walsh (121) posted another solid score. The rollercoaster of Clark (78) and Serong (76) hit a low.</p>



<p>NAS (149) exploded and was everywhere. The same for rookie Lindsay (132), proving why nailing your playing rookies can be so important.</p>



<p>The big boys delivered with Dawson (138), Neale (132), and Bailey (123) all cashing in with monster games.</p>



<p>Xerri (150) returned in style while Sheezel (99) underwhelmed. Whitfield (123) was the pick of the Giants, while another Callaghan (66) stinker sees him set to lose mass cash.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>AFL ROUND 8 PREVIEW</strong></h3>



<p>Round 8 will kick off at <strong>7:30pm AEST, Thursday, the 30th of April,</strong> with the Pies and Hawks at the MCG.</p>



<p>A blockbuster game to start the week, followed by The Showdown on Friday night. </p>



<p>From a Supercoach perspective, there aren&#8217;t many obvious targets outside of Brisbane vs Essendon, with Richmond playing West Coast as well.</p>

<p><strong>Oscar Allen (BRI):</strong> Suffered a foot injury and is expected to miss an extended period of time, around 12-14 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>Dayne Zorko (ESS): </strong>Listed as a test to play this week, returning from a calf injury.</p>



<p><strong>Scott Pendlebury (COL): </strong>Will be rested this week on the short turnaround.</p>



<p><strong>Tim Membrey (COL):</strong> Suffered a hamstring injury and is expected to miss around a month.</p>



<p><strong>Isaac Kako (ESS): </strong>Suffered a back injury and is expected to miss an extended period of time.</p>



<p><strong>Mark Blicavs (GEE): </strong>Won&#8217;t play this week after suffering a knee injury, expected to only be a short-term injury.</p>



<p><strong>Flynn Perez (HAW): </strong>Was managed last weekend with a small issue but expected to be back in the selection frame this week.</p>



<p><strong>Jai Culley (MEL): </strong>Devastating news as he suffered an ACL injury and will miss the rest of the season.</p>



<p><strong>Isaac Heeney (SYD): </strong>Is expected to return this week after missing last week with calf soreness.</p>



<p><strong>Tim English (WBD):</strong> Listed as a test to play this week, returning from a knee injury.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>AFL SUPERCOACH BREAKEVENS</strong></h3>



<p>Breakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.</p>



<p>Price changes will occur after players have played three games, as they are based on a player&#8217;s 3-week average.</p>



<p>Generally speaking, when looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they will help make your team money.</p>



<p>Similarly, if you have some players with high breakevens in your team, maybe it’s time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.</p>
