Six Again | NRL Supercoach Round 8, everything you need to know


<p>It&#8217;s not often you score 1400 yet still see red arrows for the week, but round 7 was just one of those weeks!</p>



<p>An absolute points feast everywhere you look, a points buffet some might say, where the big dogs definitely did their fair share of eating.</p>



<p>Just some numbers to put it into perspective: 2 players exploded for 160+, 16 for 100+ masterclasses, and a staggering 49 80+ scores.</p>



<p>But what made it truly rare was that most of these guys were Supercoach relevant, hence why we saw so many massive scores around the grounds.</p>



<p>A friendly reminder of just how fast the game of Supercoach can change, and how it only takes a good week or two to fly up the rankings (or down them).</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>NRL ROUND 7 RAPID RECAP</strong></h3>



<p>In case you didn&#8217;t get to catch much footy last week, here is my rapid recap of round 7.</p>



<p>Going in chronological order:</p>



<p>A devastating night for Turbo (10), who succumbed to yet another hammy injury early in the night. Manly still dominates thanks to Lehi (103), while Chester (68) remains solid.</p>



<p>Sasagi (108) continues his insane start to the year, while Sua (102) notched his first ton since round 2. </p>



<p>A first-half blitz and game-winning field goal for King Cleary (118), despite the Phins&#8217; second-half fight led by none other than Herbie (134) and the Hammer (122).</p>

<p>The Wahs with another win, led by their main man, Ford (101). The Titans battled hard, with Faeamani (94) continuing his cash gen.</p>



<p>One of the all-time performances from Latrell (177) with FOUR tries. T Couchman (107) and Cook (104), immense on the losing side.</p>



<p>While one FRF gun fell to injury in Haas (31), another FRF gun excelled in May (113). Doueihi (82) continues to get it done.</p>



<p>A vintage Tedesco (162) clinic and a double for Marky Mark (94) led the Rooster to a big win. Hunt (102) with a hat-trick in the loss.</p>



<p>Eels suprise the Dogs, led by cheapie Volkman (82). Outside of that not much Supercoach relevancy, Xerri (111) top-scored.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>NRL ROUND 8 PREVIEW</strong></h3>



<p>Round 8 will kick off at <strong>7:50pm AEST,&nbsp;Thursday, the 23rd of April</strong>, with the Tigers hosting the Raiders.</p>



<p>No real blockbuster matchups are slated for this weekend, but still, there are plenty of close matchups that could go either way.</p>



<p>In saying that, there are also some one-sided matchups we could look to target in the Roosters vs Dragons and Panthers vs Knights.</p>



<p>The Titans are the team on the bye this week.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>KEY AVAILABILITY WATCH</strong></h3>



<p>Each week, we will list players whose injury statuses have changed in the week prior. </p>



<p>Keep your eyes out for Team Lists on a Tuesday afternoon, where we will know a lot more about most of these injuries. </p>



<p><strong>Kotonoi Staggs (BRI):</strong> Suspected to have torn a ligament in his foot, awaiting scan results and more news.</p>



<p><strong>Payne Haas (BRI):</strong> Suffered a grade 3 MCL sprain and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>Reece Walsh (BRI):&nbsp;</strong>Maguire has confirmed Walsh will return in round 9 or 10 from facial fracture.</p>



<p><strong>Jacob Kiraz (BUL):&nbsp;</strong>Still awaiting further news, but suspected to have suffered a sprain MCL, could be out in the medium term.</p>



<p><strong>Enari Tuala (BUL):</strong>&nbsp;Was a late out after injuring his hamstring pre-game, severity yet to be confirmed.</p>



<p><strong>Ryan Couchman (STG):</strong> Expected to make his return this round from suspension.</p>



<p><strong>Jaydn Su&#8217;a (STG):</strong> Has been suspended for 3 matches for hit on Murray that got him sent off.</p>



<p><strong>Jacob Liddle (STG):</strong> Suffered another hamstring injury, awaiting news on severity.</p>



<p><strong>Thomas Cant (NEW):</strong> Suffered a calf injury and is expected to miss around a month.</p>



<p><strong>Mitch Kenny (PEN):</strong> Suffered an ankle fracture and is expected to be out for 8-12 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>Hudson Young (CAN):</strong> Has been suspended for 2 matches.</p>



<p><strong>Tom Trbjoevic (MAN):</strong> Suffered yet another hamstring injury and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>Ativalu Lisati (MEL):</strong> Expected to make his return this round from calf injury.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>NRL SUPERCOACH BREAKEVENS</strong></h3>



<p>Breakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.</p>



<p>Generally speaking, when looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they will help make your team money.</p>



<p>Similarly, if you have some players with high breakevens in your team, maybe it’s time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.</p>
