Niko’s AFL Supercoach Watchlist: Buy, Hold, Sell round 5


<p>A round 4 score of 1,763 sees me drop over 11k places out to rank 14,029.  Ouch.</p>



<p>The hope going into the round was to tread water, but I went into a rip with five premium players missing.  </p>



<p>Oh, and another ruck injury or suspension, hooray!</p>



<p>Should I just bite the bullet and trade in the likes of Bont or Gawn?  </p>



<p>Or keep looking for value in the hope of a full premium side much quicker? </p>

<p><strong>Todd&nbsp;Marshall ($147,900 Port Adelaide FWD, B/E -75)</strong></p>



<p>If you don’t own him, now is the time to bring him in.  </p>



<p>Expected to be fit and ready for Gather Round and will make a heap of cash and get defensive DPP to boot.</p>



<p><strong>Oscar&nbsp;Steene ($119,900 Collingwood RUC, B/E -52)</strong></p>



<p>This one comes with a bit of a caveat.  </p>



<p>Only bring him in if named, and it gets you McAndrew, on the field.  </p>



<p>Otherwise, I’d shoulder arms and let it go through to the keeper.</p>

<p><strong>Jacob&nbsp;Farrow ($163,000 Essendon DEF/MID, B/E -42)</strong></p>



<p>Elevated price, but he already has DPP, is a great user of the football, and will play for the struggling Bombers.  </p>



<p>Clearly, the number one bubble buy of the week if you own Marshall already, fresh off a 90 score.</p>



<p><strong>Kysaiah&nbsp;Pickett ($518,400 Melbourne MID/FWD, B/E 49)</strong></p>



<p>After a bit of a slow start, Kozi has put 135 and 126 together.  </p>



<p>His role is rock solid, and his price is right if you’re looking to upgrade from an underwhelming midpricer.</p>



<p><strong>Tom&nbsp;Stewart ($549,400 Geelong DEF, B/E 98)</strong></p>



<p>I think you can safely go here now with four supercoach tonnes on the bounce.</p>

<p>I looked like a genius at half time when on 90 before he went missing.&nbsp; I’ll still stand by my comment that he’s a decent D6 option at a cheap price.</p>



<p><strong>Brodie&nbsp;Grundy ($661,000 Sydney RUC, B/E 76)</strong></p>



<p>Bullied Matt Flynn, but despite the lower breakeven, I’d prefer his past partner in crime, Max Gawn.</p>



<p><strong>Bailey&nbsp;Smith ($643,400 Geelong MID, B/E 95)</strong></p>



<p>Still only 6% owned, coming off another good score.  He’s averaging 120 with a 67 in there.</p>



<p><strong>Max&nbsp;Gawn ($700,600 Melbourne RUC, B/E 113)</strong></p>



<p>I’m refusing to spend $700k on players this season.  It’s never ever worked for me in the past, but typically it seems to be working this season.  </p>



<p>A great option to replace English if you can afford him fresh off a 175 against what is supposed to be tough opposition in Witts.</p>

<p>It’s a big breakeven, but I feel like he’s about to explode.  West Coast, Carlton, and Richmond in the next six.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Hold</strong></h3>



<p><strong>Harry&nbsp;Schoenberg ($119,900 West Coast MID, B/E -35)</strong></p>



<p>100% efficiency with 83% TOG but only 8 touches and a 48 score.  </p>



<p>34m gained is telling, and I dare say his spot in the team is in question after such a poor team outing. </p>



<p><strong>Josh&nbsp;Lai ($119,900 Port Adelaide MID, B/E -34)</strong></p>



<p>He could be ok, but I’m not convinced that he’s in their best side and expect him to be in and out.</p>

<p>Not even sure we can trust his body, but I’m sure we’ll discuss him again soon.</p>



<p><strong>Keidean&nbsp;Coleman ($311,800 Brisbane DEF, B/E -26)</strong></p>



<p>Well done to starters and holders.  With Answerth out, he’s been unreal.  The ship has sailed for us non-owners.</p>



<p><strong>Talor&nbsp;Byrne ($113,500 Carlton MID/FWD, B/E -13)</strong></p>



<p>Not doing enough, and better options out there.</p>



<p><strong>Luke&nbsp;Trainor ($285,000 Richmond DEF, B/E -6)</strong></p>



<p>A little too expensive to be considering him, despite being on the bubble.  Is scoring pretty well though, and one for drafts.</p>

<p>Nothing groundbreaking, but you could hold, or you could sell.  It only takes one pop score to get the cash rolling in again.  Watch the team list.</p>



<p><strong>Jack&nbsp;Watkins ($181,500 Port Adelaide&nbsp;MID, B/E 33)</strong></p>



<p>Ah yes, perfect use of the boost from me bringing this guy in for a 7 score.  Another guy who could easily restart his cash generation, provided he stays in the team.</p>



<p><strong>Connor&nbsp;Budarick ($308,400 Western Bulldogs&nbsp;FWD, B/E 45)</strong></p>



<p>He’s doing enough for us; continue to hold.</p>

<p>Surely they don’t fly him to Adelaide fresh off a hammy.&nbsp; If they do, he must be 100% and a great option to replace English with DPP swings.&nbsp; Holders rejoice.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Sell</strong></h3>



<p><strong>Ed&nbsp;Richards ($592,900 Western Bulldogs MID, B/E 173)</strong></p>



<p>Oh boy, what a shocker this starting selection has turned into.  144 when it didn’t count, two 90’s, a bye, and a late out against the easiest opponent he’ll have.  </p>



<p>Now he’s out for a couple more, and you should probably just cut your losses before massive price drops come.</p>

<p>Unless that changes, or you have McAndrew stuck at R3, he’s a clear trade out IMO, reluctantly.</p>



<p><strong>Lachlan&nbsp;Blakiston ($291,300 Essendon DEF, B/E 81)</strong></p>



<p>He must go now after a 33 score.&nbsp; Expecting him to move back or completely out of the team.</p>



<p><strong>Darcy&nbsp;Parish ($347,200 Essendon MID, B/E 68)</strong></p>



<p>Use the money in him to upgrade elsewhere.  The experiment is a failure.</p>

<p>Was basically declared fit right and then missed two games.&nbsp; What I do know is that he owes me a trade and a boost.&nbsp; Another easy move to Farrow.</p>
