<p>Welcome to The Corridor, a weekly article I will be doing every Tuesday, that goes through everything you need to know ahead of the next week of AFL Supercoach!</p>



<p>After a teasing appetiser of footy in the form of Opening Round, it was good to have footy back in full swing, and of course, Supercoach back in action.</p>



<p>All in all, most things, not all, went close to as expected.</p>



<p>As always, don&#8217;t overreact to the limited sample size of just one score.</p>



<p>That being said, it comes down to role as well, and if you got a role totally wrong, maybe it is a good move to trade early.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>AFL ROUND 1 RAPID RECAP</strong></h3>



<p>If you want an in-depth recap of round 1, make sure to check out <strong><a href="https://scplaybook.com.au/blog/2026/03/16/afl-supercoach-round-1-wrap-9-things-we-learnt" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Dylan Bolch&#8217;s weekly wrap</a>,</strong> but in case you didn&#8217;t get to catch much footy in round 1, here is my rapid recap of the last week of footy:</p>



<p>Starting on Thursday night, Jagga Smith (113) helped Carlton edge out Richmond, while Walsh (96) underwhelmed.</p>



<p>Hawthorn dominated Essendon, but Merrett (139) starred. Parish (93) gets a pass mark.</p>



<p>Marcus Bontemelli (160). The most expensive player in the game for a reason. Popular ruck pick English (127) also looked good.</p>



<p>Serong (150), Jackson (142), Holmes (141), most of the big dogs stood up big-time. Bruhn (110) looks the pick of the mid-rangers.</p>



<p>Gulden (112) looked good before injuring his shoulder, which will now keep him out for four months. </p>



<p>Houston (132) looks close to a must after their bye. Naicos (126) did Naicos things while McAndrew (88) looked solid, a relief for everyone.</p>



<p>A North clinic led by Sheezel (134) and Xerri (128). Butters (94) was disappointing as a popular captain pick.</p>



<p>Sinclair (123) outperforms NAS (88) again. Flanders (104) solid as expected, Phillipou (27) injured.</p>



<p>Big performances from Petracca (152) and Anderson (132). Murdock (110) and Robertson (105) were extremely impressive as cheapies. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>AFL ROUND 2 PREVIEW</strong></h3>



<p>Round 2 will kick off at <strong>7:30pm AEDT, Thursday, the 19th of March</strong>, with Hawthorn hosting Sydney at the &#8216;G&#8217;.</p>



<p>Four teams that played opening round will be on the bye this week: Brisbane, Carlton, Collingwood, and Geelong. </p>



<p>The matchup of the round appears to be Friday night, with Adelaide hosting the red-hot Bulldogs.</p>



<p>From a Supercoach perspective, the Suns vs Richmond look like a game to target, as well as Port vs Essendon and North Melbourne vs West Coast.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>KEY AVAILABILITY WATCH</strong></h3>



<p>Each week, we will list players whose injury statuses have changed in the week prior. </p>



<p>Keep your eyes out for Team Lists, where we will find out a lot more about most of these injuries. </p>



<p><strong>Izak Rankine (ADL):</strong> After missing round 1 with suspension, Rankine will make his season debut vs the Dogs this week.</p>



<p><strong>Todd Marshall (PTA):</strong> Left the game vs North with an ankle injury, awaiting an update.</p>



<p><strong>Mattaes Phillipou (STK): </strong>Didn&#8217;t play in the second half with thigh concern. Initial reports are that it was just a cork, so he should be good to go.</p>



<p><strong>Errol Gulden (SYD): </strong>Devastating news as Gulden has been ruled out for four months with shoulder injury.</p>



<p><strong>Isaac Heeney (SYD): </strong>Has been cleared of a hamstring injury, but may miss this week vs Hawthorn due to short turnaround.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>AFL SUPERCOACH BREAKEVENS</strong></h3>



<p>Breakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.</p>



<p>Price changes will occur after players have played three games, as they are based on a player&#8217;s 3-week average.</p>



<p>That means this week we will see price changes from players from the Hawks, Swans, Bulldogs, Suns, Giants, and Saints.</p>



<p>Nonetheless, going early on some of these other low-breakeven options could also be a move, although there is more risk involved in that.</p>



<p>Generally speaking, when looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they will help make your team money.</p>



<p>Similarly, if you have some players with high breakevens in your team, maybe it’s time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.</p>
