Six Again | NRL Supercoach Round 3, everything you need to know


<p>Every Supercoach manager starts the season in the same boat, with a salary cap of $11,982,500, 46 trades at our disposal, and 5 boosts in the bank. </p>



<p>If you enter round 3 still with 5 boosts to your name, you are doing Supercoach wrong.</p>



<p>That, or you are ranked inside the top 100 after nailing every single cheapie, mid-ranger, and premium to start the season. </p>



<p>As you are going to see in our most traded table down below, there is a plethora of trade-in options this week that really look the goods.</p>



<p>In fact, times like this have me wishing there was a super-boost button that would allow us to make even five trades in a week.</p>

<p>As always, the main discussion point at this time of the season is cash generation vs points. </p>



<p>And as always, the answer isn&#8217;t definitively one or the other, but so early on, you almost have to lean toward cash generation.</p>



<p>Especially this season, where the best cash cow options are not only going to make us a lot of coin, but they are putting up incredibly impressive scores two weeks into the season.</p>

<p>Going in chronological order:</p>



<p>Eels surprised the Broncos, with cheapie Pezet (82) shining. Haas (103) and Walsh (99) bounced back.</p>



<p>Warriors dominated, with Halasima (103) and Boyd (91) starring. Noah Martin (66) extremely solid in defeat.</p>



<p>AJ broke the record, many thanks to Latrell (84). Relatively quiet Supercoach game for Roosters and Rabbitohs players outside of that.</p>



<p>Tigers absolutely dominate the Cowboys, POD options galore after their round 1 bye. </p>



<p>Sua Fa&#8217;alogo. 155 points. Enough said. Storm&#8217;s attack looks electric. R Couchman (69) a shining light.</p>



<p>Nathan Cleary (109) and Penrith are back to domination. Sharks are left searching for answers.</p>



<p>Ponga (54) and Brown (66) injured. Turbo (88) healthy and looking good, despite his team being straight woeful.</p>



<p>A Dolphins v Titans game where neither team reached 20 points was not expected. Herbie (78) gets a pass mark as a popular skipper option.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>NRL ROUND 3 PREVIEW</strong></h3>



<p>Round 3 will kick off at <strong>8:00pm AEDT, Thursday, the 19th of March</strong>, with the Raiders hosting the Bulldogs in the nation&#8217;s capital.</p>



<p>From an NRL point of view, all eyes will be on Friday night with the Roosters vs Panthers and Storm vs Broncos. </p>



<p>From a Supercoach point of view, there are now glaringly obvious matchups to target, as we are still learning the level of most teams. </p>



<p>The Manly Sea Eagles are the team on the bye, probably a much-needed week of rest after getting thrashed by the Knights. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>KEY AVAILABILITY WATCH</strong></h3>



<p>Each week, we will list players whose injury statuses have changed in the week prior. </p>



<p>Keep your eyes out for Team Lists on a Tuesday afternoon, where we will know a lot more about most of these injuries. </p>



<p><strong>Adam Reynolds (BRI):</strong>&nbsp;Scans have cleared him of a rib fracture, hoping to play through the pain, but he may miss a week or two.</p>



<p><strong>Tom Flegler (DOL):</strong> Didn&#8217;t return in the second half after suffering a rib injury, not expected to be serious, but no further news as of yet.</p>



<p><strong>Daniel Atkinson and Kyle Flanagan (STG):&nbsp;</strong>Both suffered ankle injury scares vs the Storm. Awaiting test results, but at this stage not believed to be too serious.</p>



<p><strong>Shawn Blore (MEL):&nbsp;</strong>Suffered a foot injury in return via NSW Cup. Has been cleared of serious injury and will look to play NSW cup again in the next 1-2 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>Fletcher Sharpe (NEW):</strong>&nbsp;Expected to return this week from PCL injury.</p>



<p><strong>Kalyn Ponga (NEW):</strong> Confirmed to be a high-grade hamstring tear, will miss 6-8 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>Dylan Brown (NEW):</strong> Confirmed to be moderate grade MCL injury, expected to be out 4 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>Kurt Capewell (NZ):</strong>&nbsp;Injured his calf in warm-ups, awaiting test results for the severity of injury.</p>



<p><strong>Taylan May (WST):&nbsp;</strong>Went off early after injuring his shoulder. At this stage, expected to miss 4 weeks.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>NRL SUPERCOACH BREAKEVENS</strong></h3>



<p>Breakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.</p>



<p>As mentioned above, this is a massive week for trading as we get our first wave of price changes (for all players who have played 3 games).</p>



<p>Generally speaking, when looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they will help make your team money.</p>



<p>Similarly, if you have some players with high breakevens in your team, maybe it’s time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.</p>
