Supercoach NFL 2025-26: Running Back Analysis

From proven veterans to exciting rookies, the running back position is full of exciting Supercoach options.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The best of the best</h2>



Ideally, you would have all these guys in your team, but sadly, their premium price tags don’t allow for that at the start of the season. 



These are your proven guns of the position. The players you love to watch when you own, but absolutely dread to watch as a non-owner.



Saquon Barkley ($24.86m)



It was nothing short of a perfect first season for Barkley in Philly that ended in a sweet, sweet Superbowl victory. 



I expect Barkley to put up very impressive numbers once again this season, running behind the best offensive line in football.



The one factor hindering Barkley’s Supercoach output is his lack of goal-line touches due to the Eagles’ favourite play, the ‘Tush Push’. 



Barkley managed to make up for this last season with a ridiculous number of long touchdowns, but this is bound to regress.

Jahmyr Gibbs ($23.19m)



There is no denying that Gibbs has the potential to finish as RB1 in Supercoach. 



In a dominant Lion’s offense, his explosive running style and impressive receiving ability are destined to lead to impressive Supercoach output.



The one thing holding Gibbs back is his split backfield workload with David Montgomery, where Montgomery has historically been the preferred goal-line back.



With this in mind, is it worth holding off on Gibbs to start the season to see if his role has changed? Personally, I am going to find it hard to leave him out.



Bijan Robinson ($21.43m)



Bijan put together a very impressive season in his second year in the league, where he would have finished as RB4 in Supercoach. 



Personally, I just can’t help but think he is yet to reach his full potential.



Bijan will be behind a great run-blocking offensive line and, hopefully, a more successful offensive unit as a whole for Atlanta.



It is hard to find any downside to Bijan as a Supercoach option. If he can stay healthy and keep his heavy workload, he is my pick for RB1.

Christian McCaffrey ($18.37m)



This is where I am grateful that I am playing Supercoach and not Fantasy Draft. 



CMC is, without a doubt, still a top running back in this league. 



Injuries have been the story of his career, but luckily for us Supercoachers, we do have trades up our sleeve if he pulls the short straw on injury luck yet again.



If you are familiar with NRL Supercoach, think of CMC as Tom Trbojevic. If fit and healthy, he is almost a must-own with his insanely high ceiling.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reliable veterans</h2>



I will be honest, these picks bore me a little. But if you want to play it safe, I can’t fault you for picking these guys.

Derrick Henry ($22.49m)



The 31-year-old defied all doubters last season, with his rushing production being nothing short of spectacular. Sadly, I am joining along as a doubter this season. 



Henry is very old for a running back and I would be very surprised if he can repeat his heroics of last season.



Priced in a similar range to the options I discussed above, I personally won’t be starting with Henry. Then again, they call him King Henry for a reason. &nbsp;



Jonathan Taylor ($19.7m)



Now this is the most exciting pick out of the ‘reliable veterans’. You would have to go back all the way to 2021-22 when Taylor finished as RB1 in Fantasy. 



So, we know he has the potential, but unfortunately, he has struggled to put together a healthy and productive season since.



With Richardson no longer under centre stealing rushing attempts from Taylor, could we see him back at his best?

Josh Jacobs ($18.9m)



In his first season with the Packers, Jacobs put together a very solid season. 



I expect a very similar role this year as the main back in a solid Packers offense. A safe pick.



Kyren Williams (18.59m)



Very similar to Jacobs, where Williams will likely carry the majority of the backfield workload for his team once again. 



I expect him to put up some solid scores week to week. Once again, a safe pick.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Exciting mid-range options</h2>



These are the players that intrigue me the most. Solid running backs that look set to break out this season. 



Unfortunately, they are still priced relatively highly, but with the potential upsides of these picks, there is still plenty of value to be had.

De’Von Achane ($17.92m)



Despite some reports out of preseason that Achane has been carrying a calf injury, he should be fit to start the season. 



Achane has firmed as the clear RB1 in Miami, and everything points to this being his breakout year.



With Tua back under centre, Achane’s receiving production should continue to shine. It could be a wait and watch to start the season, especially with the injury cloud.



Kenneth Walker III ($16.67m)



Walker has never been lacking talent or skill, just a good situation. 



Although he still finds himself behind quite a poor Seahawks offensive line, new Offensive Coordinator Klint Kubiak will look to strengthen Seattle’s running game.



If the Seahawks can put together even just a competent running game, expect Walker’s talent to shine, and Supercoach production to skyrocket.

Chase Brown ($16.61m)



Due to injuries last year, we got a glimpse of Brown’s talent as an RB1, and during this time, his output was outstanding.



With Brown having locked down the RB1 role in a dominant Cincinnati offense, an impressive season of Supercoach output could very much be on the cards. &nbsp;



Bucky Irving ($14.97m)



Last season, Irving gradually earned his way to a more dominant workload in this Bucs offense. 



Finishing the season playing around 70% of snaps, he showed very promising signs as a runner and pass catcher.



If Irving can keep this heavy workload, I expect him to score very well. A lot of potential value in this pick.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rookie cash cows</h2>



With Supercoach pricing all rookies at such low price points, these cheapies are oozing with cash generation potential. 



However, with so many other good options at this position, you may need to pick and choose which rookies you will start with in your own team.

Ashton Jeanty ($4.65m)



Honestly, how much do I need to say? If you do not own Jeanty, then you aren’t taking NFL Supercoach seriously. He should be nothing short of 100% owned.



Am I saying he will finish as RB1? No. Well, maybe, which is why he is an absolute no-brainer at this price. Don’t overthink it, lock and load.



Omarion Hampton ($4.4m)



Hampton looks set to share backfield duties with Najee Harris, to start the season at least.



This will definitely limit Hampton’s output early on, but at this price, there is still so much value to be had.



I expect his role to only increase as the season goes on, and in a run-heavy Chargers offense, he really excites me.

TreVeyon Henderson ($4.15m)



Henderson is also expected to be in a shared backfield to start the season. 



However, many preseason reports have suggested that Henderson has been winning over the RB1 role on the team.



He might start slow, but I expect Henderson to produce solid Supercoach output en route to some good cash generation.
