Positional Watchlist: NRL Supercoach Round 11 Rising and Falling Player Stocks

Interesting trading round this week in NRL Supercoach. 



I’d normally advise waiting prior to the first bye round, but with a few injuries around and King-Togia set for his first price rise, the need to trade will naturally be team dependent. 



If you do trade, avoid Origin candidates wherever possible. It’s a terrible feeling getting burned by an Origin selection at the last minute.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Fullbacks</h3>



Low BEs for both James Tedesco (BE 34) and Ryan Papenhuyzen (BE 9) this week. 



However, they also both have tough matchups (Roosters away to Dogs, Storm away to Sharks). I think both can wait. 



Alternatively, Scott Drinkwater (BE 54) is at home to a downtrodden Sea Eagles side. 



The sad reality for non-owners (me included) is that we’re unlikely to get him any cheaper than his current $900k price prior to round 15. 



Bringing him in and giving him the captain’s armband is an option.

Of all the below, Dylan Lucas would be my preferred option for this week. 



Others can wait based on matchups, unless you’re looking at Robert Toia for cash generation.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5/8</h3>



King-Togia is in the spotlight this week ahead of his first price rise with a -51 breakeven. 



Unfortunately, his initial 83 will drop out of his 3-game average next week, likely slowing his cash growth. 



Still, at bottom dollar, he should make plenty of cash over the bye period, and can then be traded to a gun for the run home. 



Slotting him on the bench in the low-scoring 5/8 position looks like a great way to free up cash.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Halfbacks</h3>



Nicho Hynes has reaffirmed his essential status in recent weeks. 



Meanwhile, Jahrome Hughes has bottomed out in price at $630k. 



He’s an exceptional Origin period purchase, having averaged 95 between rounds 10 to 18 last season. 



There’s no rush with a BE of 52 and an away game vs the Sharks incoming before a bye in round 12. 



He’s well worth planning for though.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2RF</h3>



Zac Hosking has shown over the years that he’s a gun when given 80 minutes in the pack. 



This is now looking likely, with Matty Nicholson out with an ankle injury (either 2-4 weeks or 6-8 weeks, per NRL Physio) and Hudson Young a strong Origin chance. 



Another encouraging performance from Briton Nikora on the weekend (76, including 61 in base + power). 



Erin Clark continues to go from strength-to-strength. 



He’s slotted into Tohu Harris’ role, which has traditionally been great for SC scoring. 



It could be worth waiting to see minutes when JFH returns, but Clark looks a great option regardless.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">FRF&nbsp;</h3>



Joseph Tapine, AFB and Erin Clark are the players of interest here, given almost everyone already owns Haas and May. 



Clark has the advantage of being dual position. AFB continues his incredible try scoring record for a front rower. 



It’s Tapine who I like the most of the three. 



He’s averaging 69 in base + power this season, behind only Haas (86 B + P), May (82 B + P) and Tino (71 B + P). 



The Raiders’ big man clearly fits the trend of dominant front rowers this season. 



So far, he’s improved on last season’s average by 12 points, largely thanks to an additional offload and additional tackle break on average per game. 



He also has two tries so far, which will be a little harder to repeat for the rest of the season. 



We know he’s capable of it. 



Jacob Saifiti looks a fine option for anyone looking to generate cash at FRF. 



He has 59 and 72 in the last two weeks, all in base + power. 



Priced $370k, with a -9 breakeven, covers rounds 12, 13, 15 and 16.

Much of the same here. 



I’m pretty sure Ryley Smith has his lowest BE (2) of the season. 



It’s hard to justify a trade at the position. 



Sticking with whoever you’ve got at the position is probably the play.&nbsp;
