Positional Watchlist: NRL Supercoach Round 8 Rising and Falling Player Stocks

We’re now only four rounds away from the bye period, so this can become a major focus for trade planning. Keep in mind that Kiwis and Poms are gold for this period. I’ve been burnt many a time by a fringe Origin player being selected.&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fullbacks</h2>



Drinky looks the best trade-in, with a Titans matchup this week and a good run to come. I could understand coaches also considering Ponga at sub-600k, especially if it frees up cash for other moves.&nbsp;



If not picked for Origin, Teddy will be essential for the bye period, but at $845k and with a bye in round 10 then the Dogs in round 11, he can wait a few weeks.&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CTW</h2>



A stack of gun CTWs have put their hand up as targets. Marzhew is a priority for non-owners with a -13 BE. Of the others, I like Lucas for his DPP, then Herbie for his bye coverage and then Kiraz (Origin smokie so bye coverage may not be as good).&nbsp;



Mark Nawaqanitawase could be a gun on the wing – with opportunity for more runs and tries. Wait and watch a week to see how he goes in the new position though.&nbsp;



If Kane Bradley ($233k) secures a spot for the Storm, he’ll be a cheapie option next week.

Boy we didn’t need to lose Campbell in 5/8 of all positions.&nbsp;



Munster is the clear standout for non-owners.&nbsp;



Dylan Brown could be the next best option but has the bye this round then Sharks after that. Following that he goes Dolphins (H), Knights (A) before playing the round 12 and 13 bye rounds.&nbsp;

The likes of Young and Preston look overpriced now, especially with Origin looming.&nbsp;



Fifita’s injury last week makes him a watch for now.&nbsp;



Katoa can wait a week or two woth a BE of 121.&nbsp;



Hugo Savala has had a quiet two games at halfback (scores of 20 and 21) but at just $199k could be a decent downgrade option. With a BE of 21 he can wait for now.&nbsp;

Nothing new at front row but Couchman has cemented himself as a target. He’s still just 617k and averaging 71 points in 60 minutes, including 69 in base + power.&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hooker </h2>



Along with 5/8, Hooker is proving a major headache of a position. It’s probably not worth trading here for now and targeting other higher upside positions instead.&nbsp;



With the Roosters’ Origin players having poor bye coverage, I could only see Watson as a trade option if he can be paired with Plath for a dual swing.



Ryley Smith played 80 for the first time last weekend. Although his PPM (0.56) is relatively low, he could be a downgrade option.&nbsp;



Wayde Egan didn’t play 80 minutes on the weekend, I believe due to an injury niggle. Watch his minutes over the next few rounds before the bye period.&nbsp;
