Watchlist, round 4: Rising and falling player stocks


<p>The lists below rank the best targets for each round.</p>



<p> Targets are prioritised by points potential rather than value, so factor that in when considering your trade options.</p>

<p>No changes here since last round. The only option I’d be interested in is Seifert, who has looked fantastic in the opening rounds. Ollie Pope would only be relevant if he moves up the order.</p>

<p>Also no changes here since last round. Bancroft’s round two form makes him a target for round five, when we can focus on Thunder players ahead of their round six double. Billings and Gilkes are both a watch, in case either can find a top order spot.</p>

<p>Jamie Overton moves to the top of the list due to his impressive form and role. Short moves down one despite his massive ceiling. I prefer the security of Overton’s bowling.</p>



<p>Liam Scott also rises due to bowling four overs last match, including two at the death. He got taken for plenty though (1-52 off four), so it may not continue.</p>



<p>I’ve moved D’Arcy Short below Scott, purely based on Scott having opportunities for bowling points. D’Arcy looked good again last match (41 off 22 balls) and is a decent punt. He’s taken Weatherald’s opening spot, unfortunately for patient holders, including yours truly.</p>



<p>JFM and Josh Brown are both punt options for round 4. I prefer the former given youth is on his side. However, we saw Brown’s humongous ceiling with his match winning century in last season’s finals series. After their double in round 4, they face a struggling Stars outfit, meaning you could take them as a three-game punt.</p>

<p>Jason Sangha could be removed as quickly as added after he unfortunately left the field injured last night. His role looked excellent before he did, batting at 3 and taking a wicket bowling his leg spin.</p>



<p>Beau Webster returned to bowling his full quota for the Stars. He even bowled a few overs at the death. It would be nice to see him bat higher than six but if he continues with that bowling role and isn’t again called into the Australian setup, he’ll be a trade in regardless.</p>

<p>Wes Agar made a fantastic return to the BBL with 3-25 from four overs. It was against a struggling Stars’ outfit, however. The potential return of Tanveer Sangha also makes Agar a wait and watch until the Thunder round 6 double.</p>



<p>Chris Jordan’s role has piqued my interest batting at seven and bowling his four. At around $115k he could be a very early trade in option for the Canes round 8 double. There is a risk that he’ll leave the ILT20 by then, but it could be worth taking.</p>
