Weekly Wrap: Round 3 stars, flops, injuries

It&#8217;s annoying that the week after To&#8217;o goes down, they score 3 tries on that (his) wing&#8230;&#8230; 
But that&#8217;s supercoach i guess. Will try to cash in with the rookie.

Are we back people? Are the 2021 scores back and here to stay?



It was an explosion of points in Round 3, just in time for some price rises with 10 players cracking a ton, a majority of them Supercoach relevant.&nbsp;



Nicho Hynes kicked off the weekend with an Aquaman like performance in the wet, before Munster, Papi, Murray, Brown and Nanai all went large meaning scores for the most were on the up.&nbsp;



This author managed a whopping 1,289 after looping Nicho, so I missed out on Schneider’s points but thems the breaks!



That’s the price you pay for looping.. It cost me about 20 or so points, but still a good round none the less.&nbsp;



Hopefully you nailed your trades last week and didn’t bring in Hiku like a few I know did.



You can’t nail them all, but when you do, tell everyone – including the girl who makes your coffee at the shop that you traded in Nicho! &nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dragons v Sharks </h2>



Oh Nicho you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind oh Nicho! Wow!



The wetter his hair, the better he plays. 124 in a superb performance to kick Round 3 off for those (Me included) who traded in the gun half. He looks as good an option as Cleary at HFB and the time is ticking to get him in.&nbsp;



In torrential conditions, in fact it was probably drier at the bottom of the ocean than through some parts of that match, it was Nicho and only Nicho that stood tall.



His running game and drive to get his hands on the footy mean his scoring will only get better.&nbsp;&nbsp;



Jack Bird crashed over for a four pointer on his way to 69, Zac Lomax’s 65 consisted of mostly base stats, with one LBA and Jesse Ramien notched up 75, with 20 of those points coming in offloads!&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tigers v Warriors </h2>



Here’s the wrap up. There was 1,336 Supercoach points scored in this match between 34 players.



That’s less than 40 per player. It’s games like this you wonder how far away from an NRL debut you really are?&nbsp;



There was one player who scored over 63 in this match. And that was James Tamou.&nbsp;



Curran was busy for his 56 in his 66 minutes, although the attacking stats didn’t come for him like most would have hoped.



Aitken scored a try to finish with 61 and Utoikamanu inured himself and is set for a long stint on the sidelines. One to forget for us Supercoaches!&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rabbitohs v Roosters </h2>



Doesn’t the sight of these two teams going at each other just get the juices flowing.



And to top it off, C Murray barges over then sets up another two to finish with a mammoth 129!



Owned by only 10% of teams, he has been the benchmark in the 2RF in the opening three rounds.



I’m tipping he will be one of the most traded in players. His draw doesn’t affect his output and if Souths are to keep winning, he will be a big part of that.



Latrell will take some time to warm into the year, but as a POD, I really like it. He kicks goals, scores tries and breaks tackles. He just needs to do it more consistently.

As with Latrell, Walker still looks like he needs some game time to adjust to his new look halves partner. A few more weeks of price drops and he will be a perfect trade in option.&nbsp;



Angus Crichton started on the bench and only got through 36 minutes of work for his 30.



For now, he is a trade. Until he finds some attacking spark or the Chooks use him other than a lead runner, he won’t be featuring in my side.&nbsp;



Sammy Walker made way for Nicho for me this week and this guy couldn’t have been happier with his decision after he only managed 41.



The Overlord defended the young half to me over the weekend and said the Chooks draw does open up. But so does mine, and it was from Ikea and houses my socks and undies, doesn’t mean it’s any good.&nbsp;&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Panthers v Knights </h2>



To be a young gun at the Panthers! What a day out May and Tago had on the depleted Knights.



And when I say depleted, they were fine untill the 30th minute before Barnett decided to do a larynx check on Chris Smith with his elbow.&nbsp;



Once the Panthers had the extra man it was game over. May scored 106 including a hat-trick and Tago two.



With To’o still a couple weeks back we assume, you can hold off buying May for one more week but he is set to make a heap of money. Fingers crossed he takes Staines spot when To’o returns.&nbsp;



The centre combo for Newcastle did a job with Best scoring 69 and Gagai 60. I haven&#8217;t done any research, but after owning Best for most of last year, that’s probably his highest score in two years.&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Storm v Eels </h2>



What is it with these two teams? They have thrown up some cracking matches in recent times and not many would have predicted Ray Stone to be the match winner.&nbsp;&nbsp;



It was a Supercoaches dream match with four players cracking a ton and three others scoring over 85.&nbsp;&nbsp;



Of those four players, Cam Munster went huge with 121 with only one try-assist, but had a field day setting linebreaks up left, right and centre!



He was ably assisted by Ryan Papenhuyzen who also notched a ton scoring a try and kicking four goals.



The duo takes on the Bulldogs next week and should have their mate Harry Grant back after the Storm were missing more hookers than a fire at a burlesque house.&nbsp;



Josh King played like Isaah Yeo in the middle, setting a try up and a further two linebreaks to finish with a massive 85. He will make a ton of cash for those who jumped on.&nbsp;&nbsp;



D Brown backed up last week’s big effort with 100 neat as he remembered how to run the ball in style and set tries up.&nbsp;&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Raiders v Titans </h2>



I&#8217;m forgiving any Canberra fans for leaving and getting a good spot at Assembly or Kokomos, but they missed an almighty comeback!



Led by Jacky Wighton and Brad Schneider, they left it till late but did the job. Schneider scored an impressive 79 making owners a ton of cash for next week.&nbsp;



And Tommy Starling looks to be the second best HOK behind Grant. He got the Raiders back into the contest on Saturday and&nbsp;could be the stepping stone to Grant.



A late David Fifita linebreak helped him score 72, but it was a fruitless night as Seb Kris had it in for him and jammed him every time he had the ball.



He was limited in his tackle busts and didn’t make a single offload! The big score is coming, just how much cash will he lose in the process will be the question on owner’s minds?



Beau Fermor has shot into CTW consideration after another big performance. He scored 89 which included a try and the Titans like attacking to the left. He has a BE of –26 and takes on the Tigers. Hellooo!!&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Broncos v Cowboys </h2>



Oh what a sight it was seeing Jeremiah Nanai’s rats tail fly through the air and bag three tries!



The boom rookie in only his seventh NRL game, bagged a hat-rick and more importantly, 100 points for Supercoaches alike.



He has quickly become a set and forget reserve and will only get better with more games under his belt. Non-owners can still jump on, with at least $100k still to be made.&nbsp;



I was able to avoid the Hiku hype with the centre only managing 28 points as the Cowboys favoured the left. He will still make owners some cash, but takes on the Chooks next week.&nbsp;



Now onto the lowlights. And that was Kotoni Staggs and Selwyn Cobbo for me. Two players I banked on to score some early season points and make me some cash have barley left the gates.



Staggs made six runs and Cobbo spent more time getting pushed back into the in-goal area. There will be some selection meetings later in the week and they won&#8217;t be invited!&nbsp;



Haas was another who after his week one effort, hasn’t really gone on with it. He still scored 67 but only played 57 minutes.&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sea Eagles v Bulldogs </h2>



If the NRL came out and decided they wouldn’t award any premiership points for this match, I wouldn’t be arguing. What a dour affair. Thankfully Cherry kicked us home, but it wasn’t one I was cheering. &nbsp;



Tommy Turbo showed some glimpses of his 2021 form, but Aaron Schoupp made it his mission to make sure he dropped a ton of cash.



He only scored 66 and lost $173K for owners who held onto him. With a BE of 240, his price is going south and quickly.&nbsp;



Haumole Olakau&#8217;atu was a popular trade option (See Spy and Overlord), but the slippery conditions did nothing for him or his attacking ability, scoring only 35.



Manly and Tommy need dry weather footy and La Nina hasn’t helped that. They have a nice run coming up which will please owners, but maybe the 2021 form was a flash in the pan.
