Spy Talk: Finals underway, Round 22


<p>Hey troops,</p>



<p>Bloody sad day I have just heard the news of Paul Green. Just terrible.</p>



<p>SuperCoach of course pales in comparison to this sort of news, but it’s still something we all love, so let&#8217;s take a look at some of my  thoughts for the coming weekend and the final weeks of the year. The Spy boys will be looking to build on a big week of nearly 1500!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Trades</strong></h2>



<p>I have banged on about them all year and have managed to keep 3 for myself! Blokes are starting to drop like flies so please only trade if it&#8217;s a genuine upgrade, because any trades you can afford to keep could be huge.</p>



<p>A few scenarios of when it would be worth or or not:</p>



<p>1 &#8211; Replacing an injured player when you have no backup. If you are staring at 0 points then obviously it&#8217;s a no brainer! Pull the trigger</p>

<p>2 &#8211; If however you are looking, like myself at Cleary -> DCE, I&#8217;m not so convinced. This doesn&#8217;t mean I am against it, but remember that using the trade and bringing in DCE means you are dropping someone out of your playing 17. For me, that would be Drinkwater. </p>



<p>If DCE goes 100+ and Drinky gets 35 it&#8217;s a beauty! HOWEVER, there is every chance they may score similar or Drinkwater outscores DCE in which case you have used a trade for zero net gain or even lost points. It will be team dependant as always but it&#8217;s a big decision to make! Looking at you Maty Ryan. </p>



<p>Which way will you go? I think I&#8217;m holding the trade and just playing Drinky.</p>



<p>The main thing to consider is your total gain from the trade. Estimate the score of the player you are trading in and subject what you think the person who falls out of your 17 will score!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Latrell</strong></h2>



<p>I can&#8217;t wait to watch him against some quality sides! Defensively I&#8217;m not sure Parra fit this bill, though they are capable no doubt. The next 2 weeks will be the true test. As an owner, hold tight and non owners strap in because it could work out fine for us but it&#8217;ll be a nervy watch. I&#8217;d recommend just enjoying his brilliance and just hoping it&#8217;s not every 10 minutes!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Doueihi</strong></h2>



<p>He has the ability to rack up points regardless of how he and his team plays. 53 last week in a match I personally don&#8217;t think you will see him play so poorly in again. He was inches from another easy 20 as well, but a cut ball to Maumalo fell short with the line wide open. A major issue was that the Tigers got absolutely destroyed in most tackles. </p>



<p>They continually lost the initial contact and it led to slow back foot service which didn&#8217;t aid Doueihi&#8217;s running game. As the old saying goes, they simply didn&#8217;t get off the bus! Let&#8217;s see how they go this week, but I&#8217;ll be playing him in my centres for the remainder of the season regardless given how tricky that spot has become..</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Skippers</strong></h2>



<p>Great week for skippers because it&#8217;s wide open, but for me it&#8217;s out of Garrick and Nicho Hynes whilst Latrell owners could load up! (though that doesn&#8217;t come without risk given less base stats…)</p>



<p>On a side note, there is a whisper Talakai could be out. Not sure if true but I run the risk of copping Benny Trbojevic if so and I don&#8217;t want to trade him. As such, I&#8217;m going to play Tass v Parramatta and lock in a playing centre. Bit of a risk but my guy is saying Talakai is out! That&#8217;s just a feeling but maybe worth checking your centres and when they play given May is also not playing.</p>
