NBA Supercoach Team Reveal | Spy's squad + analysis

G’day Troops,



My squad below is all based around maximising early games played, as each NBA team plays a different number of games each week, and all games count, as well as trying to find value to increase my player prices and be able to upgrade my squad to more all-around quality as soon as possible. 



Importantly, my focus is on maximising games for my best players as this is where the points are!



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Point Guards</h3>



Shai&nbsp;Gilgeous-Alexander ($22m)



My early stud and Mr Reliable given his high percentage shooting and minimal turnovers, plus everything else across the board, numbers-wise. 



An early schedule of 3 games, then 4, 4, 3, and 4 means max games over the first 3 rounds and only 1 off max over the first 5. 



Locked in and possible skipper.

Luka Doncic ($19M)



A very good schedule over the first 4 rounds, no Lebron James for that period, and a full pre-season with LA, there is every chance he can get back to averaging 39PPG rather than 31PPG of last year in terms of SC.

Bench



VJ&nbsp;Edgecombe ($4.9M)



A banging final pre-season game earns him a spot in my side to begin with as a non-scorer.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Shooting Guards</h3>



Derrick White ($12m) &amp; Payton Pritchard ($10m)



Locked in for the first 3 rounds and plenty of usage to go around with Tatum out long term. 



Early points + price rise expected. 



Good early schedule.



White is actually one of my boys, he is a ripper and should kill it!



Bench



Reed&nbsp;Sheppard ($4m)



Hot preseason and can hopefully make fast cash. 



A chance to come into the starting side to allow big spending elsewhere, but not until his schedule opens up and we see how he is scoring.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Centre</h3>



Victor Wembanyama ($21m)



Despite an only semi-ideal early schedule, I’m a bit worried about leaving him out, given he could go to another level this season. 



All going well, it would then make him an easy flip to Giannis ahead of the Bucks&#8217; hot schedule. 



Definitely someone to own from round 8 if you don’t start with him.



Not locked in but looking likely, and I may VC SGA on day 1 and see what he scores with a view to skippering Wemby off the bat. 



If SGA goes very well, I will bring in a non-player somewhere in my squad for looping, which might be a good idea anyway for my final tinker.



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bench</h3>



Xavier&nbsp;Tillman ($3.6)



To be honest, I’ve spent all my cash and can’t afford anyone else! 



But the Boston front court is thin, so maybe he can make a bit of cash for me. 



He can score SC points when given time, but no high hopes here. 



I may nuff him completely, but it would need to be a basement price option who is hurt long term at the risk of them jagging 2 random minutes during the week.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Small Forwards</h3>



Here is where I go cheap for starters.



Matas&nbsp;Buzelis ($6)



He looks primed for more responsibilities and a breakout season. 



Waaay under value and can hopefully contribute a little in points to allow me to have him as a cheapie and spend big elsewhere. 



I will cop the 2 game week 1 ahead of a nice schedule where he can hopefully do a job for me!



Ace Bailey ($4.8m)



Dead set, copy and paste, except he might be more hit and miss, but to get the big boys elsewhere, I need a couple of cheapies to do a job. 



Hoping Ace is one of them! 



A 2-game week 1 means I may play my bench guy over him to start before slotting him in for a decent run from there on with a view to upgrading asap. 



I do want Ausar Thompson (Another of my boys), but I can’t afford him under the current structure. 



Maybe a Wemby downgrade to a guy with a better schedule is something for me to consider.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bench</h3>



Kon&nbsp;Knueppel



Looks set for a decent role at Charlotte and can make money. 



As mentioned, I may roll him out week 1 for his 3 games v Ace’s 2. TBD…



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Power Forwards</h3>



Chet Holmgren ($14m)



Cracking early schedule, is a gun and may be a little undervalued after last year&#8217;s injury. 



A great start at PF.



Cooper&nbsp;Flagg ($5m)



Locked in and starting, don’t overthink it. 



A fantasy-friendly game. 



Should be 100% owned and probably starting for you.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Flex</h3>



Evan Mobley ($16m)



Cleveland&#8217;s schedule is phenomenal, and Mobley is a gun at a good price. 



Being a big man means fewer turnovers and missed shots, so he is suited to the scoring system, which should ensure consistency, which will be a critical aspect of NBA SC. 



Some guards who can miss a lot and turn it over could have some real dud weeks mixed with some all timers, which adds a lot of risk. 



Mobley&#8217;s role should mean a solid floor health pending.



As above, I may consider swapping Wemby out for someone like Devin Booker, who is underpriced and has a good schedule with his expected extra usage, but not at this stage. 



Donovan Mitchell even?



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Consensus&nbsp;</h3>



Either way, the side is basically set, barring the decision at Small Forward, which in turn impacts Wemby.



I have a big eye on Jokic from week 3 on, as well as Giannis. 



Likely a double trade to them that week, but it will depend on money and who stays and who goes! 



Likely a downgrade elsewhere if required. 



I want to spend my trades on the big boys who play max games because that’s where the points and captaincy are at. 



That’s why it is crucial to have decent role players who can stick and do a job. 



Just like real ball in fact!
