  1. Well shit.

Moses and Horsburgh were my casualties this week.

I wanted Cleary and Jr Paulo this week. I have 350K in the bank but I might be short.

SJ and AFB a decent alternative?

It was always a Paulo AFB debate in my head.

It was only going to be cleary until this.

I have Laui, Walters and Drinky as my other halves.

    Cheers lads.

    • I think AFB and SJ are great options.

Both are low ownership, particularly AFB, and SJ’s run is incredible.

Plus AFB will be over $600k next week so if he is hitting his straps he’ll become out of reach very quickly and become a very strong POD going forward.

Just forge a plan to get Cleary ideally next week as the Panthers are coming into a nice run of games as well.

    1. H2H player predominantly: how many trades should I be saving before finals? I have 24 left coming into Round 8.

    2. What players over next few weeks might be dipping in price & bargain buys? (A la Marty Kapow)?

    • 1. If you use two every week from now on you’d run out come grand final time, so don’t be too concerned about trades, we have stacks this season.

      2. McInnes, Ponga, Crichton, Murray are a few of the guns on the dip and should bottom out in the next 1-2 weeks.

    • Possible to go for Cleary and Matterson?

Matterson is a serious priority in my opinion.

Price wise Cleary and Teddy will probably rise similar. Teddy has the tougher match up this week.

Both have very generous runs coming up so good op to get them both within the next two weeks.

I’d probably go Teddy for upside, Suncorp will be a major factor for scoring too over AAMI Park.

What are your thoughts on James FH? I know they are stacked at the Panthers, but do you think going forward his minutes may level out. Also, with the injuries at the Roosters, and the points bonanza on offer, do you think there is any value in M Aubusson?

    • JFH is very safe but he’s hardly a keeper unless he’s playing 65+ minutes.

I think there’s too much depth in the pack for it to happen unless there’s more injuries. Not that keen.

No I wouldn’t go near Aubo unless he gains a start.

    • I own Tapine and I’m not that keen on him. I think he’s been underwhelming in actual NRL, and now he’s moved to the middle he may drop to 60-65 minutes.

He could move to the edge if the give Hudson Young a rest, but I get the idea on form Hudson may play 80.

If he plays 80 as a middle it’d be huge but I’m not convinced he will.

Cleary was traded in this week over SJ
But with SJ playing the titans maybe bring him in instead and get Cleary next week?

    Then who to captain –
    Teddy (vs MEL)
    Cleary (vs WST)
    Haas (vs NZL)
    Lolo (vs PAR)
    Matterson (vs NQC)

    • As mentioned above, you won’t go wrong either way. Similar breakevens, SJ has the better match up, Cleary is the better SuperCoach player so very hard to split. But Cleary is the one you want going forward if you can only lock in one over the next two weeks.

I’m thinking Teddy skipper, but it could be a grind v Melbourne so there is some risk. I also like Matterson a lot, but I’m a touch concerned all the ball goes to the left edge with Moses out.

Tough week for captains but I’ll be going one of those two.

      – TW

    • Hey mate, it’s a very fair question and a valid concern. But while he may see less ball in attacking territory, I think he is too good to pass up and still has the greater attacking upside than McInnes. McInnes also has a breakeven of 119 so you should be able to pick him up at a fair discount in a week or two anyway.

    Trade conundrums this week:

    1) Munster & Horse out – Teddy & Talau in via a lot of duels. With this trade I have to keep and play the Milf which is the ultimate of risks but maybe okay against the Wahs as much as it pains me to admit that.
    2) Munster & Horse out – SJ & AFB
    3) Munster & Walters out – Smith & Talau (via duels)

I have Cleary already. Could also do a million other things but these seem the most urgent ones to salvage a season that is already up in flames.

    Cheapie CTW this week –
Fidow – not a great draw, already had his $, Holmes coming back
So it leaves Funa or Talau…
Very similar across BE, predicted rise, average stats
    Thoughts?
