NFL Supercoach Final Word | Trades, Captains, and PODs Week 3


<p>After a week of carnage, we head into Week 3 hoping all our players can get through the round unharmed.</p>



<p>Week 2 was a week of injuries, with DJ Moore, Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Dallas Goedert, and Jaxson Dart all going down. </p>



<p>I was lucky enough to not own any of these players, but I know many coaches who have lost a few players early in the season (looking at you Josh Clutterbuck).</p>



<p>If you’re lucky enough to have avoided injuries, it’s now time to look at your underwhelming players and decide whether to trade or hold.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Price changes are coming, and you don’t want to be stuck with a player who loses you money this early in the season. </p>



<p>It’s why I’m using a boost this week.&nbsp;</p>



<p>These trades are not panic trades; I’m simply getting rid of players who will lose me money for players who will make me money. </p>



<p>Let’s get into it. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Week 3 Trade Plans</strong></h2>



<p>First on the trade block is Makai Lemon.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Lemon has had a slow start to his NFL career, and the rookie receiver has to go. </p>



<p>I’m sure he will eventually come good, but his BE is currently 18, and I have no faith he will get near that score in Week 3. </p>



<p>Lemon’s had four receptions for nine yards over the first two weeks of the season, scoring just four points.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If I hold and he repeats this, he will start to lose me money, and I can’t be doing that when there’s an ideal replacement looking right at me. </p>

<p>That man is Denzel Boston.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Boston has hit the ground running in Cleveland, posting scores of 25 and 36.&nbsp;</p>



<p>He’s currently bottom dollar, and with a BE of -40, his price is going to skyrocket. You really don’t want to miss the boat on this one. </p>



<p>Boston is the ideal replacement for Lemon, and it should be a trade you’re making this week. </p>



<p>My second trade is Colston Loveland for Dalton Kincaid. </p>

<p>Loveland has scores of zero and one this season. His zero means he won’t drop money yet, as that was recorded as a DNP, but even so, he hasn’t looked good at all. </p>



<p>What makes things even worse is the hamstring injury to Bears QB Caleb Williams. </p>



<p>Although it’s not as bad as first thought, there’s a real chance Loveland is without his starting QB over the next couple of weeks. </p>



<p>I’m cutting my losses and doing a straight swap for Kincaid, and I think this trade is a bit of a no-brainer. </p>

<p>Kincaid has been on fire. He already has 12 receptions, 225 yards, and a touchdown. He’s the top-scoring TE in Supercoach, and with a BE of -12, his price is going to rapidly rise. </p>



<p>He’s quickly become Josh Allen’s favourite target, and I’m excited to own him going forward. </p>



<p>My third and final trade is De’Zhaun Stribling to Jalen Coker. Stribling is on IR and out for a couple of months, and I’ve been umming and ahhing who to trade him for. </p>



<p>I settled on Coker because this week will be the only week I can make this trade. Coker is $5 million more than Stribling, but luckily I had a spare $6 million in the bank. </p>

<p>I chose Coker because he is going to make me money in a short time. He’s currently priced at $9,420,000 and has a BE of -36. </p>



<p>He’s projected to rise in price by $3.3 million this week, and that’s exactly the type of money you need to be making at this stage of the season.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It’s going to set me up for the rest of the season – I just hope Coker continues his strong run of form!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Week 3 Captaincy Plans</strong></h2>



<p>How good is Josh Allen?</p>



<p>He’s the best QB in Supercoach and the best player in Supercoach. </p>

<p>I put the VC on him last week, and it was the easiest loop I’ve ever made. He dominated the Lions, scoring 80 in a performance worthy of an MVP. </p>



<p>There’s no reason to think he will slow down. He plays the hopeless Chargers at home this week, and he’s simply a different beast at Highmark. </p>



<p>Put the C on Allen and put your feet up. He won’t let you down. </p>



<p>The VC is an interesting one this week. I doubt I’ll need to loop, but to give me the option, I’ll be putting the VC on Bijan Robinson.&nbsp;</p>



<p>He plays the Packers on Friday, and I’m hoping he bounces back after a disappointing showing last week. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Week 3 PODS</strong></h2>



<p><strong>Tyler Shough </strong>(QB)<strong> </strong>$20,930,000 – 0.6% owned</p>



<p>Plenty of coaches are trading Caleb Williams this week, and there’s plenty of options out there, but I’ve found one from left field.  </p>



<p>If you want to save some money and take a chance on a POD, you could do worse than Tyler Shough.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Shough is quietly putting together an excellent start to the season. He leads the League in yards and is averaging 46.5 points per game.&nbsp;</p>



<p>He’s not the flashiest QB, and he doesn’t have the star power of some, but Shough has shown that he can mix it with the best. </p>



<p>He’s got a BE of 4 this week, and it will be an intriguing contest against the unbeaten Las Vegas Raiders. </p>



<p>He may not be the safest pick, but he has a heap of upside. You could easily buy him at his current price point and then straight swap him for a proven gun in a few weeks&#8217; time. </p>



<p>He’s going to make money, he should keep scoring well, and he is a really exciting prospect. </p>

<p><strong>Dontayvion Wicks</strong> (WR) &#8211; $5,840,000 – 2.9% owned&nbsp;</p>



<p>Dontayvion Wicks is a fascinating cheapie POD this week, and I was very close to bringing him in. </p>



<p>He’s put up scores of 28 and 19 to start the season, setting him up for some steady price rises in the coming weeks.&nbsp;</p>



<p>With AJ Brown no longer in Philly, someone had to emerge as a new target for Jalen Hurts, and Wicks has quickly put his hand up to fill that void. </p>



<p>With a BE of -20, Wicks could be a great money-maker if you don’t like the look of Denzel Boston.</p>
