EPL Supercoach | One-stop Kop: everything you need to know Gameweek 5

We are now a month into the EPL Supercoach season, and you could finally say that we have a decent sample size to work with for each team and player.

Maybe it is someone you started with who continues to disappoint; it could finally be the week to cut ties.

Or maybe it is a player who has continued to look good, and this is the week to bring them in.

Or maybe you are happy with how your team is tracking, and it’s a week to hold trades ahead of the extended international break that follows…

Gameweek 4 Talking Points

Who would have thought the highest-scoring player in a week above 5% ownership would be a goalkeeper!?

Well, David Raya delivered the goods for managers in Gameweek 4 with a clean sheet and penalty save on his way to a monster 21-point haul.

João Pedro was the other highly-owned player who found himself near the top of the scoring charts, picking up another goal and assist as Chelsea’s front three continue to produce incredible numbers.

Embed from Getty Images

Outside of that, it really was the Brighton and Leeds show.

Brighton battered a 10-man Coventry side 5-0. Despite the red card, Coventry still look the pick of the fixtures to target week in, week out.

Leeds then put on a clinic to defeat Newcastle 4-1 to round out the week, and were unlucky to concede in the 90th minute to lose the clean sheet.

Speaking of clean sheets, we had two goalless draws over the weekend.

To no surprise, Tottenham was one of them, with neither them nor Everton able to get on the scoresheet as the Spurs remain scoreless in the league this season…

Liverpool vs Fulham was the other, to the surprise of many, as both teams had been involved in high-scoring games to date.

Availability Watch

In this section, I will give the latest injury and suspension updates, focusing on the more Supercoach-relevant players.

As always with these things, the information given to the public is not always perfect and can sometimes change quickly.

Ben White (ARS): Suffered a groin injury vs Sunderland and went off at half-time, expected to be minor but won’t be surprised if Arsenal wait until after the international break to play him.

Georginio Rutter (BRI): Suffered an injury setback before the Coventry game, but still expected to be close to returning.

Luke Shaw (MUT): Missed the Manchester Derby with an ongoing muscle issue but could return this week.

Anthony Elanga (NEW): Suffered an unknown injury in training, but reports are that it could be a significant injury that sees him miss some time.

Sandro Tonali (TOT): Missed Tottenham’s midweek game with a knock but expected to return for the weekend.

Phil Foden (MCI): Will be suspended for 3 matches after being sent off vs United on the weekend.

Gameweek 5 Fixtures

Gameweek 5 will kick off at 5:00am AEST on Saturday the 19th of September, with Brentford hosting Chelsea.

The fixture to target of the week is most likely Manchester City hosting Sunderland.

Meanwhile, many managers are also targeting Nottingham Forrest assets, against a Coventry City team fresh off a hiding.

Arsenal visit a high-scoring Brighton side, which should be another good test for the defending champions.

Newcastle also have a favourable fixture at home to Hull, as they look to bounce back from an embarrassing defeat.

Game of the week for me is Bournemouth hosting Liverpool, with Iraola facing his old club, and desperate for a win after 3 draws from 4 to start the season.

Breakevens

Breakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.

When looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they are likely to rise in price.

Similarly, if you have players with high breakevens in your team, it could be time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.
