Six Again | NRL Supercoach Round 23, everything you need to know


<p>NRL Supercoach 2026 round 22 will go down in the history books.</p>



<p>Four teams amassed the once unfathomable score of 2000 points!!! While teams who &#8216;only&#8217; managed 1500 points were faced with major red arrows.</p>



<p>Although there are no official records, I am led to believe this was the highest scoring round in Supercoach history.</p>



<p>32 scores of 90+, 20 scores of 100+, 7 scores of 120+, and even a double-century chucked in there. Mindblowing stuff.</p>



<p>We know that defences typically tend to open up late in the season, and points flow, so is this the start of a generationally high point-scoring run in NRL Supercoach?</p>

<p>The tone for the round was set in the first 40 minutes of Thursday Night Football.</p>



<p>48-6 at half-time, 82-12 at full-time. A record-breaking thrashing of the Cowboys by the red-hot Chooks. </p>



<p>Sam Walker (207) stole the show with a hat-trick on his way to one of the highest Supercoach scores of all-time.</p>



<p>Marky Mark (116) also returned to form with three tries of his own, while it was a night of what could have been for Tedesco (106), who sat out the second half with a minor ankle injury.</p>



<p>Friday night then kicked off with the Dragons and Phins, with the Phins getting the win, but not as convincingly as some would&#8217;ve expected.</p>



<p>Herbie (122) was the star, giving many people a viable loop option. It was a story of two polar opposites for the identical twins, with Ryan (123) picking up his first major attacking stat of the season for a season-high. Meanwhile, a failed HIA for Toby (29), just 26 minutes in, led to his lowest score of the season to date.</p>



<p>The Dogs got the win over the Storm thanks to a Critta (122) masterclass at 5/8. Sua (107) continues to pump out massive numbers despite the Storm&#8217;s struggles.</p>

<p>Saturday afternoon was an ugly one for any of the Te Maire Martin to Jayden Campbell traders, as TMM (130) crossed for a late double and JC (61) struggled with the Titans&#8217; only scoring once.</p>



<p>Cleary (147) did Cleary things, so did Jenkins (92), who picked up yet another double as the Panthers got the job done over the Raiders.</p>



<p>The Knights also got back on track, pummelling the Broncos thanks to doubles from Sharpe (116) and Marzhew (107). The biggest loser of this game was Willison (3), who managed just 5 minutes before going off with injury.</p>



<p>Attention then turned to Prince Hynes (133), who did not disappoint, with a massive second-half performance. Injury struck once again in this game with Iro (15) going off early with a head knock.</p>



<p>The week ended with an Eels win over the Tigers, but the less said about that game the better, probably. </p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>NRL ROUND 23 PREVIEW</strong></h3>



<p>Round 23 will kick off at <strong>7:50pm AEST, Thursday, the 4th of August</strong>, with the Titans hosting the Cowboys.</p>



<p>This week looks to be a great week of footy, headlined by the Warriors vs Panthers, and Roosters vs Bulldogs Friday night doubleheader.</p>



<p>The Battle of Brisbane on Saturday afternoon should also be a cracker if the Broncos can get up to it, while the Raiders vs Knights on Sunday looks to be a tight contest with major Finals implications.</p>



<p>This week it is the Tigers who get the bye, and let&#8217;s just say I will not miss watching them play footy this weekend.</p>

<p><strong>Adam Reynolds (BRI):</strong> Suffered a concussion and will most likely miss this week.</p>



<p><strong>Xavier Willison (BRI):</strong> Suffered a nasty wound to his knee, recovery time still very much in the air.</p>



<p><strong>Toby Couchman (STG):</strong> Suffered a concussion and will most likely miss this week.</p>



<p><strong>Casey McLean (PEN):</strong> Suffered a broken hand that required surgery, likely to miss 3-6 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>Simi Sasagi (CBR):</strong> Missed last week with a hamstring strain, expected to miss 1-3 weeks.</p>



<p><strong>James Tedesco (SYD):</strong> Suffered a minor ankle injury and was rested in the second half as a precautionary move, expected to be named this week.</p>



<p><strong>Kayal Iro (SHA):</strong> Suffered a concussion and will most likely miss this week.</p>



<p><strong>Zane Harrison (GCT):</strong> Suffered a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out for multiple weeks.</p>
