NRL Supercoach Final Word | Round 18 Trades and Skippers


<p>The final hurdle of doom is here, the last major bye round for the 2026 season. </p>



<p>At first glance numbers across the board actually don’t look too bad. Hazard a guess if you can’t string together a decent 13 this week then you might be in some red arrow strife.</p>



<p>Turbo Irvo managed 1250pts last week which saw me move absolutely nowhere ranking wise &#8211; story of my season. No matter what I do, how I differentiate, how I captain &#8211; no movement occurs.</p>



<p>Frustrating, but hopefully comes to an end this week as I look to stack a few end piece guns into my team and make an aggressive captaincy play.</p>



<p>Nicho Hynes is a man that I have gone without for 17 rounds, but he’s not a man that I’m gonna go 18 rounds without. </p>

<p>Nicho basically averaged 100 before getting injured and was carving up defences with tricky Trindall the perfect foil. He’s a must own this week and must also be either your VC or C.</p>



<p>Just as Kylian Mbappe can’t stop scoring doubles for the French juggernaut , neither can our man Milky Jenkins from the Penrith juggernaut. It’s been madness deathriding him all season but I’m prepared to continue to do so. </p>



<p>Brian To’o not named in origin could mean that Penrith shift right a little more over the next few games and get him in for a few doubles just to make a statement &#8211; to Loz, and to every other team. Serious POD territory if you think this might be the case and therefore an excellent buy for the round and moving forward.</p>

<p>It’s time to upgrade some 2RF mid rangers who are underperforming, and for me that man is Ativalu Lisati. He just hasn’t got it going recently and doesn’t have that line running ability that Eli Katoa has always offered. </p>



<p>The upgrade options are clear: </p>



<p><strong>1. Hudson Young</strong> (Origin/bye but clear top pick)</p>



<p><strong>2. Dylan Lucas</strong> (dropped from Origin so point to prove) </p>



<p><strong>3. Tallis Duncan</strong> (recently dual CTW and try-scoring machine)</p>



<p><strong>4. Alex Twal</strong> (powerhouse averaging 85 but risk of reduced mins on return from injury)</p>



<p><strong>5. Keaon Koloamatangi</strong> (recent return to form and big mins which sees him base insanely high)</p>



<p>Special mention to <strong>Haumole Olakau’atu</strong> who would be near the top of this list if he hadn’t been recalled to Origin, a must own for the run home as Fozball keeps cranking. </p>

<p>For me Dylan Lucas is going to take the choccies. You best believe he will be playing hard and fast right up until the Knights round 27 bye. I expect him to push out an 80+ average until the end as the Knights push for top 4.</p>



<p>Luckily for me I have the mighty nuff John Fineanganofo at 5/8 position and because of his dual status I can swing him up to hooker and trade out Oliver Pascoe who has unfortunately had his minutes cut and will start leaking cash. </p>

<p>This allows me to bring in Hynes and slide down Jayden Campbell to 5/8 to pair Fletcher Sharpe. Four gun halves set, happy days. </p>



<p>Jackson Ford will make way for another goated dual FRF/2RF nuff in Myles Martin which then allows me to move Lisati to Lucas with 1k in the bank to spare &#8211; 7 trades left and a dream. </p>



<p>Last but not least we get to this weeks number one traded in player Tommy Turbo. I grabbed him a few weeks ago just because I love him, but now is the time to get him even if you hate him. </p>

<p>He could explode against a leaky Parramatta ruck and for that reason I’ll be slapping the big C on him and praying to the hamstring gods for a 150+ score to get me back in the top 1k hunt. </p>
