AFL Supercoach 2026: Dyl's Skippers - Round 16


<p>There were a plethora of good captaincy options last week and we found some gold in this article, fingers crossed you did too.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Luke Jackson VCers were pumped with a score of 176, while the likes of Nick Daicos, Harry Sheezel, Marcus Bontempelli and Max Gawn all delivered 140+ scores.</p>



<p>On the bye this week are Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, St Kilda and Geelong, teams that we’d usually rely upon for captaincy picks.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Nevertheless, there are still plenty of options to consider. </p>

<p><strong>Isaac Heeney &#8211; L3 v BRI: 98, 136, 103</strong></p>



<p>A modest recent record against the Lions for Isaac Heeney, but the guy is in a rich vein of form right now. Does the return of Errol Gulden help or hinder Heeney’s captaincy prospects?</p>



<p><strong>Nick Blakey &#8211; L3 v BRI: 127, 128, 105</strong></p>



<p>A bit of a rogue shout, but the recent record is really sound against the Lions. Blakey will be a popular trade-in option to replace Jack Sinclair, and new owners could do worse than slap the VC on the star Swan.</p>



<p><strong>Clayton Oliver &#8211; L3 v HAW: 121, 107, 64</strong></p>



<p>Clayton Oliver has rediscovered his best footy this season at the Giants and will need to be at his best if Adam Kingsley’s side are to overcome the Hawks. Won’t cop a tag, either. </p>

<p><strong>Lachie Ash &#8211; L3 v HAW: 69, 95, 91</strong></p>



<p>It’s a pretty poor record against the Hawks on paper, but we know how the Hawks leak points to half-backs. Last week Mac Andrew, Bodhi Uwland and Joel Jeffrey all scored 117+.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Nick Daicos &#8211; L3 v RIC: 177, 147, 109</strong></p>



<p>I think Nick Daicos is the standout VC option this week. Will do as he pleases against the lowly Tigers, a side which he’s dominated against in recent times. A score of 140+ awaits.</p>



<p><strong>Zak Butters &#8211; L3 v ADE: 117, 124, 117</strong></p>



<p>Butters is as reliable an option as we’ve got this year. He’s been solid without being brilliant in Showdowns in recent times and is someone we’ve got to consider again this week. </p>

<p><strong>Jordan Dawson &#8211; L3 v PA: 109, 78, 94</strong></p>



<p>The record against Port Adelaide doesn’t jump off the page, but his recent form does. Dawson has averaged 125 points per game across his last five as one of the hottest players in the competition right now. Stands tall on the big stage.</p>



<p><strong>Harry Sheezel &#8211; L3 v ESS: 145, 120, 117</strong></p>



<p>Speaking of in-form players, Harry Sheezel is also on a tear right now. The star Roo has averaged 127 points across his last three outings and also has a strong record against the Bombers, who leak plenty of points at the moment.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Noah Anderson &#8211; L3 v FRE: 146, 93, 109</strong></p>



<p>Since round nine, Anderson has just one score under 126 points per game. The Suns are struggling right now, but the captain is doing everything in his power to snap his side out of their funk. </p>

<p>You’ve always got to consider a guy who’s capable of what Jackson is. His ceiling is enormous and we saw that last week with a huge score of 176. Can he back it up again?&nbsp;</p>
