Final Word Week 11 | Supercoach EPL trades, captains, PODs


<p>A BIG scoring week across the competition this week and the Bolywood Bhoys best result of 159 to complete our climb back into the 10k with just under 3/4 of the season to go. </p>



<p>A big push needed to catch the top 1k but that&#8217;s goal by gameweek 38 and we&#8217;ve plenty of time to do it but we&#8217;re a little light on with 32 trades remaining and a squad value of 113k.</p>



<p>But the scores were there for all our big names &#8211; Haaland, Rice, Salah and Pedro all scoring in the same week (and Pedro unlucky not to have had a 2nd in addition to an assist). </p>



<p>Saliba &amp; van Hecke clean sheets mean all is looking swimming.</p>



<p>Time to do some planning heading into the final International Window of the calendar year next week.</p>



<p>At the moment my only AFCON concern is Mo Salah and two goals in the past two weeks have been encouraging for the Egyptian in a Liverpool team that looks vastly improved with Ryan Gravenberch back in midfield and Alexander Isak set to return against City on the weekend. </p>

<p>Trade talk can ease on him for the moment. </p>



<p>A build back to around the $10mil mark before he departs would be just what the doctor ordered heading into the busy Christmas period.</p>



<p>I&#8217;ve got a number of trades I&#8217;m looking toward but the more and more I look through projections for the weekend &#8211; the more I&#8217;m thinking it&#8217;ll be better to hold until the international break and hit my two little re-structures when fixtures are favourable with the incomings unlikely to build too much value this weekend &amp; the players I&#8217;m holding either holding too little value to trade out solo.</p>



<p>Here&#8217;s the options I&#8217;ve worked through and how they&#8217;ll slot in to my trade plans for the next 3-4 weeks. (You should be doing this every week! And adjusting as you move through the season and injury/suspension/form slump information comes to hand.) </p>



<p>Salah would have been here a couple of weeks ago &#8211; off the back of Liverpool&#8217;s improving displays over the last two weeks, including the win over Real Madrid this morning &#8211; he&#8217;s not there any longer.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Players targeting IN</strong></h3>



<p>These two are ones I&#8217;m fairly sure will be season long keepers once they&#8217;re in &#8211; this is simply an example of how I&#8217;m laying out my trades to get them in at the most opportune moment.</p>



<p><strong>Van Hecke (8.3mil) or Andersen (5.6mil) to Van Dijk (6mil) &#8211; GW12</strong></p>



<p>The Brighton centre-back has been one of my better pickups over the past two months and I&#8217;ve still got an inkling I&#8217;ll be able to keep him for some time with Brighton&#8217;s defence expected to improve slightly with their run of fixtures I&#8217;d hate to give him up.</p>



<p>My priority is getting Van Dijk in ahead of this 10-game run Liverpool will have after the International Break where the only two teams they&#8217;ll face in the top half of the table are Sunderland and Spurs. </p>



<p>This week there&#8217;s a visit to the Etihad to face in form Haaland and Manchester City. </p>



<p>I&#8217;d rather miss out on him this week and make the move before the clash with Forest at home.</p>



<p>All being well &#8211; Fulham perform well again this week against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium &#8211; Andersen gains at least holds his price with a 3 Breakeven and I can make the move without losing one of my top performers and instead dump the Dane.</p>

<p><strong>Dorde Petrovic (6.7mil) to David Raya (8.8mil) &#8211; GW13/14</strong></p>



<p>This is where some of my lower priced dump options (in midfield) are going to come into play unless Bournemouth can pick up a couple of handy clean sheets for us over the next few weeks, not completely out of the question with Villa, West Ham &amp; Sunderland in their next 3 games.</p>



<p>I would be able to move this week if there was some stronger options to try and build some bank with but they&#8217;re just not out there at the moment as we&#8217;ll explore in the second half of this article.</p>



<p>The positive is that there is little rush here &#8211; Bournemouth face Villa, West Ham, Sunderland and Everton over the next month and it could actually benefit us to wait a few weeks with Arsenal facing red hot Haaland and Manchester City this weekend.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Players I&#8217;m looking to Sell</strong></h3>



<p><strong>Mason Mount (5.4mil) &amp; Nico Gonzalez (4.8mil) to midfield cashies &#8211; GW12/13/14</strong></p>



<p>I talked you through the thinking for both these players &#8211; they&#8217;re going to cost us two trade but thanks to the lack of playing time of mount and relatively consistent playing time of Gonzalez they&#8217;re not actively costing me wads of cash at this point.</p>



<p>In fact&#8230;the moment Mount does get on the pitch again he&#8217;ll make a million pounds which we&#8217;ll likely be able to steer towards a Phil Foden/Lucas Paqueta level of midfielder if timed correctly.</p>



<p>Otherwise, the next Ugochukwu, Longstaff that comes along we can hop on with or if&nbsp;<strong>Rodri&nbsp;</strong>begins to see minutes we simply flip Gonzalez to the 2024 Ballon D&#8217;Or winner.</p>

<p><strong>Quilindischy Hartman (9.4mil) to Top Ranked Defender &#8211; GW12</strong></p>



<p>The Burnley fullback has been one of the success stories of the season and it&#8217;ll hurt to see him go. </p>



<p>The likelihood is that his ceiling has been reached in a Burnley team that boasts one of the worst records in the competition.</p>



<p>West Ham this week should be the final time his price rises for a while with Chelsea, Brentford &amp; Palace on the horizon.</p>



<p>In a perfect world hitting just over 10mil should give us a look at Riccardo Calafiori or even a Daniel Munoz if we combine the trade with one of the others mentioned next week.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Gameweek 11 Strategy</strong></h3>



<p>For the second straight week &#8211; no trades &#8211; we&#8217;ll sit on our hands and wait for the above situations to fall into the right moment and strike while the iron is hot.</p>



<p>Much like FPL and perhaps even more so &#8211; I&#8217;ve learned that if I&#8217;m not in love with a trade option it&#8217;s more than likely I&#8217;ll regret hitting confirm with trades at such a premium. </p>



<p>Why not wait.</p>



<p>As Harry West wrote in his terrific piece last week which you can read&nbsp;<a href="https://scplaybook.com.au/blog/2025/10/31/epl-supercoach-elite-vs-exposed-the-fixture-adjusted-truth" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a>&nbsp;&#8211; Erling Haaland is not an automatic captain for the next few weekends with City running into Arsenal on Sunday Morning. The best defence in the Premier League for a reason.</p>



<p>No loop option this week &#8211; at this stage Declan Rice facing Sunderland is the surest bet so he&#8217;ll get the armband ahead of the Norwegian robot this weekend.</p>
