Final Word Week 7 | NFL Supercoach Trades, Captains, PODs


<p>Can you believe we’re already up to Week 7!?&nbsp;</p>



<p>The NFL season continues to fly by, and this week, coaches have some huge decisions to make around a couple of big names.</p>



<p>We all held our breath when Puka Nacua and Emeka Egbuka went down, but fortunately, these injuries aren’t season-ending. </p>



<p>However, with neither playing this week, it’s time to weigh up whether to hold or sell.</p>

<p>There’s plenty of trade-in options, with the likes of Ja’Marr Chase, Drake London, George Pickens and Jaxon Smith-Njigba all finding form. </p>



<p>It’s very tempting to move on from our injured stars, but just remember, you only have a limited number of trades. </p>



<p>This is the time of the season when trades start disappearing at a rapid rate, so try and take a considered approach before locking them in. </p>



<p>Research injury timelines, listen to podcasts (like ours), and take your time before burning trades. </p>



<p>With that said, here’s my Week 7 trade plans…</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Week 7 Trade Plans</strong></h3>



<p>I’ve been hoping for some good news on the injury front for Omarion Hampton, but unfortunately, he looks set to miss at least another four weeks. </p>



<p>He’s made plenty of cash, but it’s time to find another running back who’ll make some decent coin and put up some big scores.</p>



<p>There are a few options around, but I have landed on Jacory Croskey-Merritt.</p>



<p>With a BE of -9, I don’t think it’s too late to bring in Croskey-Merrett. </p>



<p>He has an ideal match-up this week against a Cowboys D that’s given up the third-most rushing yards this season.</p>



<p>Yes, he had a down game last week against the Bears, but he still played a season-high 66% of snaps and accumulated 17 of the 18 carries by a Commanders running back.&nbsp;</p>



<p>He looks set to go up another $1.5 million this week, so this might be your last chance to get him. </p>



<p>At $9.6 million he is still underpriced and a great trade-in. </p>

<p>The other player I am going to trade out is Emeka Egbuka.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It’s a trade I don’t want to make, but the rookie wide receiver looks set to be out until at least Week 10, and it’s hard to trust anyone coming back from a hamstring injury…</p>



<p>Egbuka has been the story of Supercoach this year, starting at bottom dollar and rising $9.6 million. </p>



<p>He’s been an absolute revelation and one of the most reliable receivers in the League. </p>



<p>It really hurts to see him go, but I’ve found a worthy replacement in Drake London. </p>

<p>London started the season slowly but he’s quickly found form, putting up 18 receptions, 268 yards, and two touchdowns over the past two weeks. </p>



<p>He is the favourite target of quarterback Michael Penix Jr, so much so that he was the only Falcons wide receiver with a reception last week!&nbsp;</p>



<p>At $15.51 million, he isn’t overly expensive for a keeper wide receiver, and now is the time to buy!</p>



<p>The other player who I’m sure a lot of you are thinking of trading is Puka Nacua.&nbsp;</p>



<p>He won’t play this week, but my advice is to hold him.</p>



<p>He’s been the standout wide receiver in Supercoach this season, and you will want him in your side for the run home.</p>



<p>At this stage, it sounds as if he will be back in Week 9, so he will stay on my bench until he returns.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Week 7 Captaincy Plans</strong></h3>



<p>It’s Drake Maye season.</p>



<p>Two weeks ago, I wrote that Drake Maye was a great POD, and he has certainly repaid the faith!</p>



<p>He’s still owned by only 3% of coaches, so if you own him, keep putting the C on him and watching the points roll in. </p>



<p>I was bullish on Maye as a captaincy option last week, and he produced the second-highest score of any quarterback, putting together a very solid 53-point performance. </p>



<p>I’m hoping to see something similar this week against the struggling Titans, and I’m confident he can produce another big score. </p>

<p>Patriots coach Mike Vrabel returns to Tennessee to face his old sid,e and he’s sure to have his men fired up and ready to put in a big performance against the franchise that sacked him in 2024. </p>



<p>Yes, I am a slightly biased Patriots fan, but I truly believe Maye is becoming an elite quarterback, and I’ll continue to back him in. </p>



<p>He is the 4<sup>th</sup>-ranked quarterback in Supercoach over the past five weeks, with only Patrick Mahomes and Dak Prescott ahead of him.</p>



<p>If you own Mahomes or Prescott, then of course throw the C on them, but if you’re like me and have Maye, then he’s the easy captaincy option, especially with Josh Allen on the bye. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Week 7 PODS</strong></h3>



<p><strong>Rico Dowdle </strong>(RB)<strong> </strong>$14,810,000&nbsp;</p>



<p>Rico Dowdle’s numbers over the past two weeks are simply insane. </p>



<p>He has 473 scrimmage yards in two games – that’s more than Saquon Barkley has managed all season! </p>



<p>The Carolina running back was given this opportunity due to an injury to Chuba Hubbard, and he’s taken it with both hands. </p>



<p>His scores of 63 and 61 make him the most productive running back in Supercoach over the past two weeks, and his BE of -44 means he is going to make plenty of cash. </p>



<p>However, there’s a catch. </p>



<p>Hubbard is back this week, and it remains to be seen how the two work together after Dowdle’s breakout performances. </p>



<p>Can the Panthers really relegate Dowdle to RB2 after two record-breaking games? </p>



<p>I don’t think so. </p>



<p>I expect Dowdle to still have a prominent role in Carolina’s offense, and he’s basically guaranteed to make you money. </p>



<p>At just 0.7% ownership, he could be an incredible PO,D but the question is, do you want to take the risk? I’m certainly tempted…</p>

<p><strong>Eddy Pineiro</strong> (K) $6,090,000&nbsp;</p>



<p>I can’t believe I’ve included a kicker in here, but I had to give a shoutout to Pineiro. </p>



<p>The 49ers kicker is owned by just 0.9% of coaches, and is putting up big numbers. </p>



<p>He’s the highest-ranked kicker over the past three weeks, and this season, he has not missed a field goal. </p>



<p>San Francisco can be very good at moving the ball downfield, but their offense tends to stall once in field goal position, much to the benefit of Pineiro. </p>



<p>He’s kicked eight field goals over the past two weeks, and he’s averaging 35 points per game in Supercoach over that time.&nbsp;</p>



<p>He is pricey at $11.25 million, but with a BE of -9 now is the time to buy.</p>



<p>A reliable kicker can win you your H2H matchups, and he’s about as reliable as they come.</p>
