NBA Supercoach | Most undervalued players

If you have played any variant of Supercoach before, you would know how important cash generation is, especially at the start of the season.



If you are not familiar with how Supercoach pricing works, each player has been assigned a price based on their Supercoach average from last season.



Over the course of the season, players&#8217; prices will adjust to reflect their form from the prior 3 rounds.



Therefore, the conclusion of round 3 will be when price changes start, and this will continue every round until the conclusion of the season.



This is so important as you can build up your team value, so by the end of the season, you can afford as many superstars in your team as possible.

So what is the key to this &#8220;cash-generation&#8221; thing?



Finding undervalued players.



As players are priced at their average from last season, we are looking for players who, for some reason or another, appear likely to put up better numbers this season than last.



Now, this is obviously easier said than done, but here are my favourite value picks for your starting NBA Supercoach side:

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Rookies</h3>



Cooper Flagg (SF/PF) &#8211; $5,000,000



It shouldn&#8217;t take me much to convince you on this pick. 



I feel as though I have been exposed to &#8216;Capture the Flagg&#8217; propaganda for years now, and finally we get to see him on an NBA court.



The number one pick has been put in a unique situation as he heads to a contender in the Mavericks and not some sorry rebuilding franchise. 



Although the injury to Kyrie will help his usage, we can&#8217;t expect Flagg to be an elite scorer in the NBA straightaway. 



However, what we can expect is solid contributions across the board, as he should rack up a solid number of assists, boards, and defensive contributions.



Flagg&#8217;s skillset and size give him so much upside that he really could be the most undervalued player in NBA Supercoach.

Ace Bailey (SF/PF) &#8211; $4,800,000



The number five overall pick out of Rutgers University might have the most opportunity out of any rookie to succeed straight out of the gate.



Not only is Bailey a legitimate offensive talent, but he finds himself on one of the worst teams in the league in the Utah Jazz.



I expect Bailey to start, and I can even see a world where he leads the team in scoring due to sheer volume.



The Jazz aren&#8217;t contending this year, so I am sure they will encourage their new star rookie to put up shots.



Although I am unsure if the efficiency will be there, and how Supercoach-friendly his game is, Bailey definitely has the opportunity to be very undervalued at his rookie price point. 



Other rookies



There are obviously a bunch of other supremely talented rookies that I have not mentioned, and that will be very popular in starting Supercoach sides. 



To be honest, any rookie is a risk, but we should learn pretty quickly in the season what their roles look like to start their young NBA careers.

Reed Sheppard (PG/SG) &#8211; $4,000,000



With every devastating season-ending injury to a starter comes an increased opportunity for someone else.



In the case of Fred VanVleet&#8217;s ACL injury, it is Reed Sheppard who is predicted to take over as the starting point guard for the Rockets.



Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I do not expect him to evolve into an elite Supercoach option, but he should contribute solidly.



If Sheppard locks down starting minutes, he screams value at his price point.

Cam Whitmore (SF/PF) &#8211; $5,810,000



Now this is definitely my riskiest pick of the lot. 



After seeing limited opportunity for the Rockets over his first two seasons, Whitmore has now been traded to his hometown Wizards.



He will likely be coming off the bench, but don&#8217;t let that scare you off.



Whitmore is a proper scorer with elite offensive talent. 



If he sees the opportunity, I can feel a breakout season looming.

Matas Buzelis (SF/PF) &#8211; $6,670,000



I will admit, I am a Bulls fan and a proud Buzelis enthusiast, so this pick might be a little biased.



But I genuinely believe this is Buzelis&#8217; season to shine.



I watched Buzelis very closely last season, and you can not deny his elite offensive skillset and physical tools.



What he lacked was a bit of strength and a bit of confidence.



These things will only improve for him, and I definitely think at this price point there is value.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Stepping it up a level</h3>



Andrew Nembhard (SG/PG) &#8211; $9,030,000



Now I think this is a breakout candidate that most people are predicting.



After watching his impressive postseason, we were all already anticipating a Nembhard breakout this season.



With Haliburton&#8217;s injury, he is even more primed for an uptick in production. 



The opportunity is there, the talent is there, I don&#8217;t see what&#8217;s stopping Nembhard from taking that next step.

Alex Sarr (C/PF) &#8211; $10,060,000



The thinking behind this one is simple. 



Sarr is entering his second season in the NBA, after a rookie year where he somewhat struggled to hit the ground running. 



As the number two overall pick just last year, there is no doubt he has the talent to improve his production.



Additionally, playing for a lackluster Wizards outfit, the opportunity for high usage is there.



It is a little risky, but with the potential upside, there is a potential for a lot of value to be had.

Payton Pritchard (PG/SG) &#8211; $10,290,000



Jayson Tatum&#8217;s Achilles injury leaves the Celtics without their best player, and really leaves a lot of opportunity on offer.



Honestly, I could have included Jaylen Brown and Derrick White on this list as well, but I have chosen Pritchard as I feel as though he offers the most potential value.



Priced at the lowest out of the three of them, the reigning 6MOTY has already shown that he can score at an elite level.



This season should see increased minutes, increased volume, and maybe even increased playmaking responsibility with Jrue Holiday also being traded away in the offseason.



I love the value here.

Last season without Simons, Sharpe averaged 27/6/4 acorss albiet a small sample size, but he showed the potential we are looking for. 



With Simons now in Boston, Sharpe could be primed for an all-star level breakout season.



Yes, this is a bit ambitious, but the opportunity is there for him if he can capitalise on it. 



Nonetheless, at his price point, I definitely see value.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Elite status pending</h3>



Amen Thompson (SF/SG) &#8211; $14,870,000



There are a lot of Amen enthusiasts around these days, but I swear I have been a day-one admirer.



I know he still carries with him a pretty hefty price tag, but even still, I think Amen is going to properly explode this season.



He is one of the elite athletes of the NBA, and has already shown glimpses of how this is going to translate into impressive production.



I am banking on development, but also that VanVleet&#8217;s injury and Jalen Green&#8217;s departure will lead to more playmaking opportunities for Amen.



His game is built perfectly for Supercoach, an efficient scorer who will fill up the stat sheet, including many defensive contributions.



I think he could finish as a top 20 guy in Supercoach, making him undervalued at his price point.
