2019 NRL Supercoach champion Declan Creek reveals his full squad ahead of season 2025.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hooker</h2>



Peter Mamouzelos



I’ve decided to run double cheap hooker to start the year which is the same as I did last year.



It seems to be the new meta given that hooker just isn’t the high scoring and high consistency Supercoach position that it used to be 5-10 years ago.



Mamouzelos for $302k will do a job and generate some slow burn cash over the opening month or so provided he gets at least 60 minutes, which I think he will.



Sandon Smith



I’m not sure how well he will actually score, nonetheless it’s madness to run without a dual hooker/halfback who starts at basement cheapie price and plays for a decent enough side in the Roosters. &nbsp;



Smith should see a relatively fast $200k price rise that can swiftly be rolled into CTW for higher upside.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">FRF</h2>



Tino Fa&#8217;asuamaleaui



What more could you actually ask for?



$150-200k underpriced and dual FRF/2RF for big Tino as he returns from an ACL injury.



I expect that his minutes will be back to the 60+ that we are used to within a month or two at most, provided he can stay healthy and get some match fitness under his belt. &nbsp;



Corey Horsburgh



Yet again another player who is significantly underpriced with dual FRF/2RF status.



Big Red has in years gone by shown a motor to go basically all 80 minutes when asked to do so by Ricky Stuart.



I can’t see why he can’t average 50-60pts for the season and be a start most weeks while I look to upgrade higher upside positions.



Naufahu Whyte



Whyte showed a little bit of Supercoach ability last season on limited minutes so provided he gets an increase workload, which at this stage is looking fairly likely, I think he could comfortably average 40-45pts and thus be a capable backup in the front row.



Royce Hunt



Just purely a minutes thing, if he gets them then his price goes up. I can’t see many other options to pick over him at this stage.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2RF</h2>



J&#8217;maine Hopgood



Simply one of the most consistent players in Supercoach and coming into the peak of his physicality turning 26 this year.



We know he also has tons in him if he can jag an attacking stat here and there which is well within his footballing ability.



Add in an offload license and you have a guaranteed 70pts per week player with which to build the rest of your second-row around.



Isaiah Papali’i



IPap was down on his best last season, probably in large part due to playing for a team who had no idea how to unlock his beast mode in the Tigers.



In 2025 he makes the migration from the worst team to the best and I’m definitely going to be along for the ride.



Some questions over minutes still remain, but I would be mightily surprised if he doesn’t start and play 80 and start scoring crash over tries almost instantly.

If he gets the edge spot then $368k is a steal for this particular beast. I don’t expect much from the Dolphins this year, however this guy might be the surprise packet to take away if there’s going to be one.



Josh Schuster



I’ll be the first to say that I once said never again to this guy and couldn’t wait for him to leave Manly, however at $265k and the possibility of good minutes to start the season for a decent looking South Sydney team I think he is a viable way to make a quick $100-150k pending his minutes.



Jack Gosiewski &amp; Demitric Vaimauga



Both priced at $232k and both rumoured to be getting starting spots at the Broncos and Warriors respectively.



If things change then I’ll force a work around in these two bench 2RF spots.

Nathan Cleary



Cleary is the best player in the world and regularly translates it to big Supercoach scores. A simple set-and-forget in my team.



Nicho Hynes



17% ownership for a $735k priced Hynes has me genuinely salivating.



This guy is a top tier Supercoach points accumulator and will make you pay for not owning him.



It could be round 1 or it could be round 10, but the big scores will come, and they can ruin you if you don’t get a piece.

Dylan Brown



I found it very hard to drop the Galvinator from my side after holding him all last season for a 60+ average in his rookie year playing for the wooden spooners.



However, the risk is too great that Luai takes the reigns causing his attacking touches to significantly decrease.



Thus, I’ve opted for the tried and true D.Bags who can easily push his average back to 70+ if the Eels play even slightly better than they did last season.



For a position that is seemingly causing people headaches Brown is your Paracetamol.



Luke Metcalf



I’m honestly just going with the crowd on this one. 



Theoretically he is underpriced for a goalkicking half so we will have to just wait and see whether he produces for the 38% of Supercoaches who have currently selected him.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CTW</h2>



Dylan Lucas



It’s no big secret that I absolutely love grabbing forwards in the CTW, and in Lucas’ case he has the attacking upside to compliment an already high base.



He has the speed and fend to continually pressure defences and should easily get an invaluable 60-70pts on a weekly basis in a normally sporadic position.



Jack Bird



Bird seems to be relatively underpriced at $379k considering he has tackle busting prowess and loves crabbing across the field at least a couple of times per game.



He could average 50pts and be a valuable CTW mid-ranger with some luck.



Billy Smith



Another guy who at $317k strikes me as an under-priced midranger.



He should see enough attacking opportunities at the Roosters to make some money while also having ability to get on the outside of his man and flick passes away to his outside man.



I can see him maintaining a decent enough average to achieve a pass mark over the opening month.



Jaxon Purdue



Looked to be a serious tackle busting prospect in the limited minutes we saw him last season. &nbsp;



Should Purdue get a starting spot in the backline he will be one of the highest % owned players in the game due to guaranteed cash generation.



Jesse Mclean/Robert Toia/Savelio Tamale



All look to be decent cash generation prospects should they be able to hold down a spot for 3+ weeks. If not, then no dramas as other CTW cheapies will surely emerge come TLT Round 1.

We know the risks and rewards by now having watched Turbo grace our screens for the better part of a decade.



If he’s fit then you can throw the captaincy on him every week without hesitation.



Latrell Mitchell



It feels like we hear that Trell has been training the house down almost every pre-season and it never really translates into anything outstanding come the start of the season.



However this time honestly feels different, he certainly looks different that’s for sure.



If an increase in fitness by even just 5-10% can translate into increased work rate, then he is surely in for a big Supercoach season with Souths looking to turn their fortunes around.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Flex</h2>



Kalyn Ponga



I said a few weeks ago that I was likely going to fade KP due to his plaguing HIA and injury issues and being burned by him constantly in the past, however the more I looked at the Knights draw and then back at my Supercoach team, the more I realised he was the missing piece of the puzzle.



The flex position sure is interesting and it would go totally against my ethos to not try to run a triple gun fullback team right off the bat.



If someone like Iongi starts scoring well right away and I need to get him in for the price rise then it should be as simple as using a trade boost and a few moving parts, however for the most part this strategy will largely rely on the cash generation spread around the multitude of cheapies scattered throughout the rest of my team.



I also feel the introduction of the Flex rule mitigates the risk of Ponga’s head knocks a little too.
