Everyone’s talking Cleary replacements &#8211; DCE, The Great Bearded One etc etc &#8211; but if you’re not bringing in Tom Williams, aka the SC Spy, aka the dynamic halfback for the mighty Forestville Ferrets, into your SuperCoach team to replace Cleary this week. 



Well. I’m sorry for your season, and I cannot help you.

In the other biggest polling debate raging the world this week it’s all Tommy T vs Vintage Teddy.



And look, it’s not a question of who is going to ton up, but rather a question of who is going to ton up more. 



And as an owner of just one, I suddenly feel nice about my SuperCoach choices, as the only thing I have to worry about this week is whacking the armband on Teddy and being done with it.&nbsp;



If you own both, well you’ll be a glasshouse of emotion, trying to decide whether to VC Turbo – C someone else, C Teddy, or straight Thursday Captain Turbo against the Tigers tonight.

Now my team actually did okay last week. You may recall that I went on a roadie to the Goldie to try and round them up from whatever debauchery they’ve been taking part in in Surfers since Round 14.&nbsp;



And in my quest to not win the SC Playbook wooden spoon, I found them deep in the depths of Cavill Ave and had a quiet word, a couple of fortifying whiskeys, and a bit of a laugh over their antics over the last 10 weeks, and we got green arrows for the first time since about Round 14.



Just call me Wayne Bennett.



So, if we keep on this upward trajectory, it’ll be Timmy doing the nudie run, not me.



Now onto the Captains – and really there are only two:

<h3 class="wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size">Tommy T vs Vintage Teddy</h3>



This is it. This is the battle.&nbsp;



The Great Debate.



Unless you want to go super poddy this week and risk missing a Teddy or Tommy T double ton – your Captain must be one of these two.&nbsp;



The tricky thing is the fact that we can’t VC and C two fullbacks.



So, you have to decide.&nbsp;



Is it Tommy T, and do you take the risk on a Thursday night straight Captain.



With a 3-round average of 90, FOUR tons in his last five games, and playing the Tigers, Tommy T is looking like a pretty glorious straight Captaincy option tonight.



On the flipside – you have Vintage Teddy.



He boasts a 3-round average of 101 with three tons in his last five games including an 125 vs the Eels last week, and plays the Titans on Sunday arvo – a team he’s averages tons against.



Tommy T vs Teddy – who will it be?



(Now after all this nail biting and debating – watch them score exactly the same or both go under 50).

<h3 class="wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size">The Forgotten One – KP</h3>



Now as this is a hasty article this week, you might note that we are missing Spy’s Captains and Other Such Voice Notes.



However, he has pointed out to me the great forgotten one – aka KP.



This is a tricky one to play though, because it means you either don’t own Tommy T or Teddy (I am sad for you), or you have to forgo either of them and put all your faith in the Knights (which is a nailbiter of a rollercoaster to do).&nbsp;



70 points vs the Sharks last week, a 3-round average of 83, and playing the Bunnies who were beaten by the Tigers this week – if you’re looking for a POD Captain in amongst the Teddies and Tommy Ts this week – KP might just be for you.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size">The Great Bearded One or Maybe Dom Young</h3>



If you recall, we made a claim in this article that the Great Bearded One aka Sam Walker, was going to ton up and was a POD Captain of choice last week.



And he didn’t, but that’s okay, we will allow it.&nbsp;



Because of the beard. The glorious beard. It is quite lovely, and yes, I may possibly have a thing for hair.



I’m just in talks with a beard oil company to expand our SC Playbook hair products beyond V05 Wet Look Gel for next season. Watch this space…



Playing the Titans on a sunny Sunday arvo at CBUS, with a 3-round average of 89, a couple of tons in his last three games, and about a thousand assists and more than a handful of tries this season – there’s a chance you get away with a sneaky POD captaincy on The Great Bearded One.



Dom Young – well after preaching to everyone not to trade him out on the poddy a couple of weeks ago, I consequently got home and traded him straight out, so I absolutely deserved the 128 he flung back in my face when I opened the app up.



An average of 76, playing the Titans, you’d think there’s a chance of a ton for the try-scoring machine. Not my favourite Captain of the Round, but one to consider if you put the VC on Tommy T.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size">Verdict</h3>



It’s a Teddy Captaincy for me. The VC doesn’t even matter, but I might whack it on Garrick or maybe Munster just for fun. 



And of course, I’m bringing in the Spy, so if he’s starting halfback this week, he’s a no-brainer of a VC.



I am also considering a trade-in of Cheese. With my season theme of cheap hookers – rounding it out with a final fling with my favourite SuperCoach situationship which I said I’d never bring in again, is quite simply, poetically beautiful.



Just call me a romantic.
