Let’s just call a spade a wooden spoon. And the Eels, well they’re looking like they might just take wooden spoon glory this season.&nbsp;



So, playing the Storm tonight, you’d want to think about taking a punt on a Vice Captaincy on basically any of the Storm players.



Picks?



Ryan Papenhuyzen



His glorious flying mullet will surely feature in a try or two (don’t let last week’s 35 or his 67-point average put you off). The Eels have let in 78 points on average to opposing fullbacks. Vice Captain with CONFIDENCE.



Jahrome Hughes 



Of course, it could be JHughes who wins the casual game of paper, scissors, rock in the sheds – so if that happens, you might like to have the VC on the try-assist King – 19 so far for the season.

Me and Spy both Captained Teddy for his 33 points last week (much to my heart’s relief as I’m still within striking distance of a 4-peat if I can just find the missing half of my team who are apparently oblivious to the fact that the bye-rounds are over and they can please stop bendering now…)

And all is forgiven sweet vintage Teddy. 33 points? 



Haha you’re so random and funny sometimes. 



And yes, he is absolutely a Captaincy option in this game in a team who will be looking at a making a massive statement at home after their loss to the Storm last week. 



The SuperCoach app tells me that Manly have let in 74 points to opposing fullbacks since Round 10 and Teddy’s 3-round average of 99 tells me that he is possibly my Captain of the Round.



Dom Young 



We love a bit of rogue fun on a Saturday night – and if you want to take a risk that could send you flying up the rankings in these, our very last weeks of SC2024 – a captaincy on Dom Young could be where it’s at! 



A 3-round average of 88, 72 points in last week’s loss to the Storm, and 14 tries in 14 games.

Did you bring him in? I did not which was a fantastic hint that he was going to kill it last week. 



105 points, a bunch of happy Captainers. 



And Vs the Dragons this Sunday arvo, you’d like to think he can ton up again. 



Definite Captaincy option, albeit still with a bit of injury risk.



Daine Laurie



111 points last week playing a side this week who have leaked 87 points in the last four games to fullbacks.



Brian To’o a 3-round average of 120. 



Turuva, Tago, Luai…honestly, if you want to take a risk any of these could ton up at any moment.

It’s Hammer time! 



Because with his 123 points including two tries and an assist vs the Panthers last week, Hammer is surely a consideration to bring into your team and a definite Captain if you own vs the Titans who have leaked 84 points on average to fullbacks in their last 4 games.



Jayden Campbell



But equally as tantilising in this match up in beautifully sunny Queensland, is Jayden Campbell.



A 3-round average of 108 and a couple of absolute try-assist clinics this season – don’t sleep on Jayden Campbell potentially making his 3,281 sellers cry come 6pm Sunday afternoon.

There are SO many options this week. 



Do you go a bit rogue and take a flyer on someone like Campbell or Dom Young and hope they brain it and you soar up those rankings, or do you stick true to proven guns like Teddy or Cleary?



At this moment, I’m going to play it safe with a Teddy VC into a Cleary Captaincy – but if I wake up feeling risky on the weekend that could very easily turn into a Campbell or a Dom Young instead.



Whatever you do this round, I hope you have a beautiful weekend and your Captain scores a ton for you…
