Clem's NRL Supercoach Captains: Round 15

Monday 10th June. 



BREAKING: The public are being asked to remain alert for any sightings of a SuperCoach team that has been missing since Friday. 



Last seen in the WIN Stadium sheds at around 8pm, the team of 17 has been missing ever since. 



Investigators say that early reports point to Friday beers turning into a long weekend bender…

Round 14.&nbsp;



18 players.&nbsp;



Set. Up.



Feeeeling goooood…..



And there were 19 tons. NINETEEN!



It was like an episode of Oprah:



“‘you get a ton, and you get a ton, and you get a ton too!”



But then:



 “…Oh, wait…no, not you Clementine, you get no tons…here have a nice 17-point Koula instead…”

If the bye rounds were a person, they’d be Joey M and I’d be Timmy.



Because I am cursed. And me and bye rounds? – We’re not friends.



And I tried. I really did. 18 players. Just none of them the big ton getters of the rounds – you know, the Lomaxes, the Latrells…the Tommy Talaus…



And congratulations to everyone who had a bunch of these players in their team and scored well this round! Including…*mutters through gritted teeth* the SC Spy.



But let us not dwell on last round and the fact that I went into some sort of Round 14 freefall where I dropped 3000 places and Nick Moon slaughtered me in both Classic and Draft.



And let us focus on the future and get our crystal balls out and choose the Captains of this round! And of course you can trust me…I mean, Scotty D’s 45 was fine…



Much better than the Nicho Hynes 3…



(Zero clue why Timmy trusts me with this article…I TOLD him I was the Queen of Dubious Captaincy Choices…)



And to the Vice Captains we go and oh! Here’s a glimmer of light to steer the Friday Beers back on the straight and narrow after their long weekend bender!

Now, I made a beautiful song in the WhatsApp Contributors chat this week when our favourite glorious wet locks were named in the Sharks team. And it went like this:



There’s a hero

Of your Round 14 score



There’s an answer



If you reach into your soul



And the sorrow that you know



Will melt away…!



…c’mon Spy! Sing it with me…altogether now…



And then Nicho comes along



With the VO5 hair gel to carry on



And you cast your fears aside&nbsp;



And you know you can survive



So when you feel like hope is gone



Look to wet locks and be strong



And you’ll finally see the truth



That a hero lies in he….



And it was a stunningly beautiful moment to appreciate the return of our hero, except Spy did not sing along and when I questioned the unfaithfulness…well, turns out he’s traded him out of his team!



Who’d have thought??



So, Nicho is quite clearly a Vice Captain for this round. Playing tonight vs the Dolphins at home, the 4th highest averaging player in SuperCoach this season, could put on a score.&nbsp;



(Or not – we just need to cast our minds back to Round 12 when he last played vs the Panthers to remind ourselves of the repressed memory of the 3…)



Anyhow, I say VC him if you own. Forget about the 3 and focus on the stunning 160 he scored back in Round 8 instead…



Plus, I am more than willing to go out to Shark Park tonight to rub gel in his hair.&nbsp;



It will be a burden. But I am willing to volunteer as tribute.&nbsp;



There is nothing I won’t do to fulfil my role as SC Playbook Support Group Coordinator.

ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POINTS vs the Titans.



A try. 3 try assists. 4-line break assists…



All the glorious things!



A 3-round average of 114.&nbsp;



Only 11% ownership.



If you own Latrell and you don’t at least VC him vs the Broncos after his last couple of performances…



(Except if you are Spy. Then you should probably use a second trade this week and trade him out instead…think of it as a preventative measure for when he plays Origin).



We also have a Vice Captain Risky in this game and that is, of course, Cody Walker Davey Moale, who crashed over for his second try of the season last week and scored a delicious 81…

Big David Fifita – the 2024 version



The only good thing I did last round was bring David Fifita in. 



Scoring a quite respectable 81, watching Fifita and Cody rile each other up on the field was a glorious sight to see and well worth the trade in. 



We love a bit of casual banter at the Friday Beers.



A late try made owners happy, and this week Fifita is playing the Tigers who basically stood back and applauded as Leilua ran in two tries in the second half of the game last week, on the very same side Fifita will be barging through.



He is a genuine Captaincy option for the early Saturday game, and if you don’t own, might I suggest, with only 2 scores under 80 this season, that you pull apart your team to get him in.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size">Warriors vs Storm</h3>



Watching the Warriors play my Captain last week, was a fate I wish I didn’t put myself through (except I completely forgot to be sad about the Scotty D 45, because I was too excited about the Warriors win!)



And what a performance!



Tons from CNK and AFB and TMM.



Stunning scores from Mich Barnett, Berry, and DWZ.



Surely everyone needs a piece of the Wahs in their team!



Playing the Storm at home, I’m gunning for a Warriors win, especially with SJ back, but be wary of a straight-Captaincy despite the absolute ton-up last week – there’s safer Captains this week for sure.



And then if you own Jahrome Hughes or Wishart. 



After their joint rock, paper, scissors victory last week where they went best of three and synced up, and consequently scored joint tons too – you have to consider them as well.



Disclaimer: In all honesty, I can’t pick a Captain from this game so I’ve basically just thrown a bunch of darts at the board and hope that one will stick so Timmy doesn’t fire me…

<h3 class="wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size">Captain a Rooster</h3>



They’re back! And oh, how it makes my heart sing!



So last week while the 500 Chooks I own were on the bye, it clearly destabilised my team. They were so distraught at the missing players that they went and had a blinder of a bender to dull the pain.



But now they’re back! So we can Captain them again too!



And playing the Eels on Saturday you may consider one of the big three to put the Captaincy on.&nbsp;



Teddy



The 6th highest averaging player for this season is a definite trade-in this week and it’s easy to see why. 



With fullbacks out for Origin and/or injured…Teddy is on fire, and I’m tempted by a trade of Scotty D to him. 



A 3-round average of 106 and fresh off the bye, Teddy looks like an absolute consideration for the Captaincy armband this Saturday.



Joey M or Dom Young 



The Bulldogs right edge slaughtered the Eels on Monday. 



So, you have to at least consider a Captaincy on one of these two. 



Joey M has a 3-round average of 81. 



Dom Young has two scores over 150…



They’ll be pod options – and we all saw what a pod-Captaincy on Lomax did for teams last week…so…

If you Vice Captained or Captained Lomax on the first game of the round last week…you are a scholar and a mathematician. And also, a fortune teller with a rather delightful crystal ball.



ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY POINTS.



About a thousand tries in the demolition of the Tigers.&nbsp;



Playing Manly this week, do you choose to just chuck the Captaincy on him if you own and sit back and enjoy the show and think about the three tons he’s already scored this year?



Or do you look at the last time he played Manly back in Round 4 and scored a 51?



You could of course choose to Captain Garrick instead. He’s a must-own CTW with a 3-round average of 88 and a Round 14 score vs the Panthers of 93.&nbsp;



And if you need any more encouragement, I’ll be at the game on Sunday on the hill, and as a Garrick-owner, I’ll be manifesting my heart out with my pockets full of crystals. So, beyond the excellent stats…there’s that too…

The fun thing about this week is that there are so many players back and so many options for a Captaincy! Especially after last week’s epic ton up.



So really, take your pick! Tommy Talau for a second week ton up anyone?



My pick is clearly going to be a VC on Prince Nicho into a Captaincy on either Fifita or Teddy if I bring him in.
