Are North Melbourne still the worst team in the AFL?



No, I actually don’t think so.



I think they have a plethora of young talent ready to explode under the watchful eye of one of the game’s greatest ever coaches.



SuperCoach relevant? Eh&#8230; Perhaps not as much others. But anyway, let’s get into it!

Luke Davies-Uniacke (MID, $557,400)



It’s hard to get a proper read on the North Melbourne premo’s, but in all honesty, LDU is the best of a bad bunch.



He’s coming off the back of his first big breakout in which he boosted his average from 85 all the way to 101.



Evidently, the signs for yet another improvement are clear as day, so it’s a logical pick.



However, the only reason why I wouldn’t pick him is:



a). Potential tag?



b). There’s a heap of blokes around his price that are also worth considering (Noah Anderson, Tom Green, Chad Warner, and Tom Mitchell).



For what it’s worth, he had 111 AFL Fantasy points against the Tigers last week with 81.5% CBA’s.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mid-Pricer</h2>



Ben Cunnington (MID/FWD, $419,000)



After a horror run over the last couple years, Cunno is finally coming into 2023 with a full pre-season under his belt and looks set to return to his best.



His absence from the game has seen his price plummet from $591,000 in 2022 to just $419,000 this year, so his value is undeniable.



With a young midfield crop around him, Clarko will want his most experienced veteran in and around the contest at all times.



He found career best form in 2021 where he averaged 109 from 15 games, and before that he averaged 102 in consecutive years from 2019 to 2020.&nbsp;



His FWD DPP makes him more relevant than ever, let’s just hope his ageing body doesn’t correlate to a low TOG.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cheapie</h2>



Harry Sheezel (FWD, $198,300)



There’s a lot of hype coming out of North Melbourne HQ regarding Harry Sheezel, and if his practice match performance against the Eagles last week is anything to go by, the kid is going to be a star.



The beauty about him is his flexibility.



Having been utilised in a range of different positions already this year, Sheezel should see time through the middle, half back, and obviously in his natural position up forward.



He averaged 3 goals and 19 touches from 14 games last year, and he seems like the type of player who will be able to take that form into the AFL.



He’s one of the more expensive rookies, but it’s worth paying up for a player of his quality.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Avoid</h2>



Josh Goater (DEF/MID, $192,700)



20% of the competition own Goater, but I’m not getting sucked in.



First of all, he’s no certainty to make the best 22 with Ziebell floating back, Aaron Hall returning from injury, and Griffin Logue signing from the Dockers.



Even if he has his eyes set on a wing, he still has to compete with Bailey Scott, Darcy Tucker, and the whole other stack of young mid’s the ‘Roos have at their disposal.



Secondly, he is just WAY too expensive.



He shouldn’t be priced this high, and the only reason why is because he debuted in the last minor round game last season and pumped out a 70.



He started off 2022 at $117,300 and is now $75k cheaper because of one game&#8230; That doesn’t scream high value pick to me.



I’ll be staying well clear, but I’m happy to be proven wrong.
