POD Hunter: Round 9/10, unique players to find an edge

If you’re chasing ground in the overall standings, need a leg up in your head-to-head league, or perhaps like to live on the edge with your SuperCoach selections, you’ll be sure to want to hunt point of difference (POD) players for your side.



Each week we’ll run through a list of potential candidates that fit the bill, owned by under 10% of SuperCoaches at the time of writing that can help us claw up the rankings at a rapid rate.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">DOUBLE ROUND POD</h2>



Peter Siddle &#8211;  7.0% ownership



A quality and much-loved player who has been below his best this tournament.



Wickets had been hard to come by and his economy rate was one of the greater ones in the competition, conceding 9.85 runs per over. &nbsp;



However, we may have seen a glimpse of the Peter Siddle of old in the Strikers last outing where he took 3/36.



If they run with a similar line up with only two pace bowlers, he will bowl surge and death overs, conducive to Supercoach scoring.



A very low price makes him very appealing, although it does reflect his form to start the tournament.

Wes Agar &nbsp;&#8211; 5.2% ownership



The Adelaide Strikers have chopped and changed their pace bowling line up this season, apart from Siddle being a mainstay.



If Wes Agar plays both matches and is not subbed out (it has happened before), he could be a trade in depending on line ups.



The side that Adelaide used last match with only two pace bowlers makes him a great target, but even if they decide to play three pace bowlers back at home he could be a great guy to nab for their double game week.



Coming off a score of 95 points last outing, owners will be hoping this sort of form continues.

Jack Wildermuth – 5.5% ownership



There are some massive dangers with Wildermuth in terms of job security (and Heat COVID results), but he could be a player on some people’s radars during this unexpected double game week for the Heat.



Coaches were burnt when they selected him to start the tournament (he scored 4 points and was then dropped/injured), but some handy performances in the last two rounds should mean he is a part of the Heat team, even if he comes on as an X-factor sub.



All-rounder contributions (27 runs and 2/18 with the ball, 28 runs and 0/34 with the ball) have lead to 99 and 44 points in his last two outings. He is someone who may chip away for your squad over a double game week, pending the weather.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SINGLE ROUND POD</h2>



Riley Meredith – 6.5% ownership



In preparation for next round when Hobart have a double game week, Meredith could be someone to consider for your side.



Pace bowling stocks are depleted at the Hurricanes so he will have ample opportunities with the ball in hand.



With Boland maintaining his spot in the test team and injuries to players such as Ellis and Paris, the Hurricanes will be relying on Meredith to step up to plate and deliver some quick spells.



He has already scored 82 points during a single game week and 110 points over a double game week this season, so he ticks the boxes in terms of point scoring capabilities.
