Croker's Call: Title dream ends, focus shifts to overall


<p>Well the SuperCoach title dream ended as quick as it started.</p>



<p>The Stockmen reached the top eight, only to be knocked in the first week by Tim Williams.</p>



<p>Nonetheless, it was a season goal in kicking off my second year of SuperCoach so at least there’s progress.</p>



<p>While I prepared fairly thoroughly and had a pretty deep squad, injuries got the better of the boys.</p>

<p>Everyone is in the same boat though so no excuses there!</p>



<p>I only managed 1,315 points which wasn’t enough to progress.</p>



<p>Tom Trbojevic was outstanding as captain, while the likes of Cody Walker, James Tedesco, Brandon Smith and Jason Saab all scored well.</p>



<p>Kodi Nikorima was a cruel auto-emergency while Taane Milne also flopped.</p>

<p>The focus turns to overall where I’m hoping to crawl into the top 10,000.</p>



<p>I’m sitting just outside at the moment, but am hoping to make a move inside this week.</p>



<p>It’s an awkward week as I’m stretched for numbers like most, but I have Trbojevic, Frizell, B.Smith and Taumalolo back next week.</p>



<p>If Taumalolo plays this week I’m fine, but if he doesn’t I’ll have to either play Nikorima or use my final trade, let’s see what the late news throws up.</p>

<p>Matterson’s suspension hurts my side, but it allows me to bring in young gun Harry Grant.</p>



<p>Grant starred again on Thursday night and delivered in his first game for the Stockmen.</p>



<p>Plenty don’t appear to own the Melbourne hooker so hopefully he’s the man to lift me up the rankings.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>CAPTAINS</strong></h2>



<p>Harry Grant was my vice-captain last night for a century.</p>



<p>I have a free go at the vice-captaincy trick, so I’m tempted to double up on Grant’s points. A sneaky extra try would’ve done the job.</p>



<p>At this stage though my captain will be James Tedesco who has a nice match up with the Dragons.</p>



<p>Tedesco will be rampant as the Roosters push for a top four spot and should finish the season with plenty of points.</p>
