Super trade week: Who to target with five trades?

<p>The super trade week seems as good a round as any to throw in a final word before the bye round next week.&nbsp;</p>



<p>With five trades at our disposal this week, the temptation is certainly there to play extremely aggressively as an attempt to blitz back up the leaderboard.&nbsp;</p>



<p>However, this strategy will only pay off for the select few Supercoaches who manage to nail all 5-7 trade ins over the next two weeks whilst also keeping enough trades left for what will likely be a bumpy run home.</p>



<p>This is the first article this year where I can finally talk about Manly with any sort of confidence or conviction regarding Supercoach. Garrick and Turbo are absolute must-haves for the run home and should be prioritised as such this week. </p>

<p>Garrick now averages 79.2 points for the season and has a 5RA of 107, at $728k he looks extremely expensive on paper for a CTW, however his price is only going to go up over the coming weeks with some massive tons still in his rolling average.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Buyer beware that Garrick’s scoring will likely be significantly impacted with no Turbo in round 17 or round 18, however this matchup against the Bulldogs is too hard to pass up for mine, expect his ownership to soar this week in the top 1,000 teams.</p>



<p>As for Turbo, he becomes a lot easier to grab this week with many teams being able to free up the near $1m salary that he costs by offloading the injured Nathan Cleary.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In my eyes it’s still a simple equation for Supercoaches this week despite the fact that Tommy will miss Round 17 and Round 18, and the answer is: If you have the money to get Turbo against the Bulldogs then bring him in and captain him.</p>

<p>David Fifita is another one that Supercoaches will be mulling over bringing in this week.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Fifita, now at the affordable price of $701k, falls into the same boat as Turbo for mine – bring him in ASAP.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Fifita is the sort of player who can score more points in one game than most other 2RF can score in two or three games combined, which elevates him to instant must-have status for any serious Supercoach.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Tohu Harris and Corey Harawira-Naera also shape as extremely popular 2RF buys for the round 17 bye.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Now onto the halves predicament that many Supercoaches face this week. Assuming most teams will likely sell the injured Nathan Cleary, an all-important halfback or 5/8 spot (depending on your duals) will be open for business. </p>

<p>Cody Walker sitting at $590k would be my number one trade in target for the halves this week with a tantalising matchup against the Tigers.&nbsp;</p>



<p>However, there is the chance that he gets an Origin call up in round 17 which makes this trade a little tougher to make this week as opposed to next.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The next best alternatives for the open halves position are Kodi Nikorima and Shaun Johnson.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Priced at $558k, the dual position Nikorima has been excellent so far this year, averaging higher (69.1) than the likes of Cam Munster, Jarome Luai and Matt Burton.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Expect Niko to be an extremely popular trade in by top teams this week as they look to lock in the safest points they can in an historically very erratic Supercoach position.</p>

<p>Shaun Johnson’s stocks will also surge this week as the Sharks begin their dream run home against the hapless Broncos.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If SJ scores 100+ this week then I expect his ownership will jump from 5% to 30% within two weeks as people look to slide him in right on the buzzer for round 17.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Jesse Ramien is another great trade in this week for those looking to bolster their CTW for the bye round and should be regarded as a keeper for the run home considering the sharks draw.</p>
