Champion PODs: Rd 13, unique players to find an edge


<p>I thought I would keep it short and succinct for you this week, providing my final say on bye round PODs and who I will be trading in.</p>



<p>I’m currently sitting around 2000<sup>th</sup> overall and have used all but one trade so far, is that going to stop me using max trades right now? Definitely not.</p>



<p>This week I have chosen to go with Turbo to Gutho and Jake Simpkin to Brandon Smith. Two of the highest upside non-Origin players over the next month of footy. &nbsp;</p>



<p>We can all agree now that high upside guys will be crucial to staying in the hunt up top, especially with under 13/14 bye players this week which is definitely my bracket.</p>

<p>In my opinion H2H and overall strategy does overlap over this bye period as players look to do similar things to shake up the leaderboard.</p>



<p>As for captains, I will be VC on Nofo and C on Hynes this week. If you don’t have Nicho by now you are in big trouble, but if you are on him then I think he will be majority captained by the top 100 most weeks until Paps is back.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>R13 BUYS:</strong></h2>



<ol type="1"><li>Jahrome Hughes – Was very tempted to trade Sam Walker to Hughes because he likely averages 80+ over the next few weeks, and that could be a decisive factor at halfback with Cleary on Origin duties and Sam playing slightly injured. I had to pass him up for the Cheese who I think does similar amounts in attack.</li><li>Nathan Brown – Starting to see decent enough minutes and attacking ball to warrant a look especially in the $400k range. Has always had a Supercoach conducive game and threatens to bust tackles every run. If I had to choose him or Matto right now I would be leaning towards Brown because he is massively under-owned in comparison.</li></ol>

<p>3. Luciano Leilua – Now I can’t believe I haven’t bought this guy by now because I have mentioned him a few times in previous articles this year. He is averaging very healthily over the last few weeks and sits at a very reasonable price if you want a high upside 2RF. We can see a massive disparity in scoring so far between the Origin and non-Origin reps in the second-row, besides some outliers like Tohu.</p>



<p>Ben Hunt – I’m surprised he missed Origin selection which makes him a fantastic purchase over this period as the Dragons run into a few easier teams in a row. He should also average 80+ comfortably over the next month long period.  </p>



<p>Matt Burton – Of course I have to round out the buying list with Matt Burton, this guy has shown he is capable of 100+ scores multiple times already this season, and at 5/8 he will have his hands on the ball a lot more which could mean anything scoring wise, but I think the Tigers will put up a decent fight this week.</p>
