Draftstars + punting preview: NRL Round 2

Draftstars is back for the 2021 NRL season and with it comes the chance to back your fantasy knowledge to win some cash.



For those unfamiliar with the concept, you can enter competitions for each game for as little as 50c and win major jackpots.



Throughout the season, we’ll also be providing our Punting Plays via TopSport across the weekend.

The forecast for the weekend is extremely wet, particularly on Friday and Saturday in Sydney. As such, we&#8217;re spending up big in the forwards who will get through plenty of work with the games likely to be played through the centre third of the field.



We&#8217;ll also be avoiding a host of attacking stars, namely outside backs, who may struggle to see any decent ball in the conditions.



WARRIORS v KNIGHTS



GUN



Mitch Barnett ($14,800)



We backed Barnett in last week and he delivered, scoring a try and kicking a few goals to bolster his score.



Playing 80 minutes again he should thrive in the wet and get through plenty of work, hopefully adding a few attacking stats to his tally.



VALUE



Addin Fonua-Blake ($14,500)



He&#8217;s not exactly a bargain price, but with the game likely to be played through the forwards due to the conditions we think AFB will get through stacks of work.



His offload count will likely be limited in the wet, but his workrate can make up for that.



AVOID



Roger Tuivasa-Sheck ($13,280)



RTS is a Draftstars gun, but his attacking impact is likely to be heavily limited in the conditions. We&#8217;re happy to avoid in this one as he&#8217;ll likely be a fairly popular pick.

Isaah Yeo ($13,950)



If the rain comes as forecast, this will be a bog. Yeo should play 65-80 minutes and will get through a stack of work.



VALUE



Kurt Capewell ($11,630)



Capewell is very cheap for a 65-80 minute back-rower with attacking upside (as we saw last week). Much like Yeo, he&#8217;ll get through his work in big time and is a big chance at bagging another try.



AVOID



Kyle Flanagan ($15,300)



Young Flanno had some nice moments on club debut in Round 1, but against superior opposition in the wet this week he looks like a huge avoid.



It&#8217;d be a bold play, but if you really want to steer away from the pack you could avoid Nathan Cleary at over $17k. It&#8217;d free up lots of money to spend on hard working forwards.
