Gun Show: Star players to target and avoid


<p>Here we are coaches, the last double game round for the season.</p>



<p>A final opportunity to post that golden massive score. Let’s take a look at some players to consider.</p>



<p>This will be a fairly brief article. Please refer back to the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="http://13.210.220.211/2021/01/10/gun-show-star-players-to-target-and-avoid-rd-9/" target="_blank">Round 9 and 10 article</a> for some more in-depth insights about a range of Stars and Scorchers players.</p>



<p>The primary focus will again be on these double game round players, with the recent action having changed the landscape of numerous players from both sides quite a bit, namely Mitch Marsh&#8217;s injury.</p>



<p>Let&#8217;s eye off a few top dollar players to target, monitor and avoid in Round 10.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Guns to Target</strong></h2>



<p><strong>Jason Roy (Scorchers)</strong></p>



<p>He had been threatening for a while now and finally went big against the Hurricanes with 74 not out off 52 balls.</p>



<p><strong>Liam Livingstone (Scorchers)</strong></p>



<p>We had a glimpse of what we saw last year from him. A change in performance and making some runs before a double game round can be a good recipe for success. He comes under consideration for your trades this week after making 54 from just 39 balls.</p>

<p><strong>Jhye Richardson (Scorchers)</strong></p>



<p>He has increased in price further after only taking one wicket last game, but he did keep it very economical which is what you want if you are not taking wickets.</p>



<p>Yes, he is playing away from home where he has been unplayable, but his from is undeniable and good form is what you want from your selections.</p>



<p><strong>Daniel Sams (Thunder)</strong></p>



<p>Sam returned to the side with a bang! We didn’t learn anything new, rather he just reminded us how good he can be with 50 not out and 2/25 with the ball. &nbsp;</p>



<p>He is a player we all want in our sides, we just need to weigh up and target those on the double or bring in someone who we want to hold in our sides for the rest of the competition.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Monitor</strong></h2>



<p><strong>Aaron Hardie (Scorchers)</strong></p>



<p>Hardie is a big monitor for me this round. The injury to Mitch Marsh means he becomes the number one all-rounder in the side. There could be increased opportunities with perhaps bat or ball this week in a double game week!</p>



<p><strong>Ashton Turner (Scorchers)</strong></p>



<p>He was a monitor last week and has increased to an ‘ultra monitor’ for this round.</p>



<p>With Marsh missing and possibly Munro (although it is thought Munro will return), he may be moved up the batting order. An increase in position would be welcome news because as we saw last match he did not even make it out to the middle!</p>



<p><strong>Potential new Stars opener</strong></p>



<p>There are a lot of targets who we would like this week. Unfortunately, sometimes you cannot fit them all in so you need to find a bargain somewhere.</p>



<p>If the Stars name a new opener to use alongside Stoinis, this could be worth some sort of consideration. Nic Maddinson or Hilton Cartwright are the players that could be a candidate for this role.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Avoid</strong></h2>



<p><strong>Mitch Marsh (Scorchers)</strong></p>



<p>A real shame for owners and cricket-lovers because Marsh was putting together his best overall tournament before being subbed out with injury last match against the Hurricanes. He won’t bowl again this tournament and when he returns it will be as a batter only.</p>



<p><strong>Haris Rauf (Stars)</strong></p>



<p>He was a little bit better this week and took one wicket in his spell against the Strikers, but again was very expensive going at 11 runs per over.</p>



<p>There are suggestions that back at the MCG he will be more dangerous and this could be the case, but I think there are others I would be targeting and prioritising this week.</p>



<p><strong>Andre Fletcher (Stars)</strong></p>



<p>It pains me to say this because I love ‘The Spiceman’ and the energy and joy he adds to the competition.</p>



<p>However, he has hardly scored any runs this year and has not reached that 20 run mark to gain that strike rate bonus. People would be targeting him because he is cheap, but I would rather someone in a bit more form.</p>
