Gun Show: Star players to target and avoid

I hope you’re scoring well so far and are ready for Round 3 of SuperCoach Big Bash. 



If you haven’t scored too well, don’t worry, chin up and let’s get you some guns to consider (and avoid) so you can be ready to launch into success in Round 3.



The Strikers are on the double so they are the obvious targets for trade ins.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Guns to Target</h2>



Rashid Khan (Strikers)



Perhaps under-performing to his huge expectations this round, Khan again looks like a player who could get points and score well this round.



He only took one wicket in each match and was taken downtown by D’Arcy Short in the first game, however, he still looked like he was bowling some good deliveries.



He has enticing matches against the Sixers and in particular the Heat where he could take some wickets.



The majority of players will have him in their side already, however, if you don’t you may need to find some space to include him.

Peter Siddle (Strikers)



He already stood out with the bleached hair and the outrageous sunglasses choice during Round 2.



More importantly, Siddle performed with the ball for his team. He took 1/29 off his four overs in the first match and was difficult to get away.



He then backed it up with a magical spell on a deck that suited the quicker bowlers taking a career best 5/16.



He looks to be the Strikers best bowler at the moment making him an appealing selection on their double.

Alex Carey (Strikers)



Carey has returned from his Australia A duties and will play in the two matches the Strikers play in Round 3 against the Sixers and the Heat.



He batted at number four upon returning, producing a wonderful and controlled knock of 55 to help win the game for the Strikers.



It would be great if he batted higher up the order, but both the Strikers openers at this stage (Salt and Weatherald) are streaky and it is unlikely that they both occupy major time at the crease.



I guess what I am trying to say is that he still should face enough deliveries to be a batting factor at number four. One to strongly consider this game week.



Daniel Sams (Thunder)



Yes, I know he is expensive. Yes, I know the Thunder do not have a double till late in the tournament, &nbsp;but he just scores SuperCoach points.



Sams had two wickets in the first game leading to 63 SuperCoach points and he went massive in the second game with two more wickets and finally found some form with the bat blasting 65 not out off just 25 deliveries.



His resulting score was a sublime 153. He will need to be in your side at some stage and the earlier sounds better than waiting till late on in the tournament.

Jack Wildermuth* (Heat)



Disclaimer*: He is not a gun and does not have a body of work like others I will regularly mention in my articles, but we cannot ignore what he posted in his first game back in the BBL.



My pick for cheapie of the year was cruelly selected in the Australia A game and it meant I removed him from my original team, but I digress.



He put in an exceptional performance in which he scored a quick fire 31 and then took 3/23 off his four overs leading to a mammoth score of 151. So he is averaging 151 this season and has to go in the guns for this week despite his price!

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gun to Avoid</h2>



Aaron Finch (Renegades)



The Renegades and the Sixers both have a Round 6 double and savy selectors may be bringing him into their sides early.



He is being rested in Round 3 though, so hold off and wait and bring him in after his freshen up when he returns.



D’Arcy Short (Hurricanes)



The Hurricanes are coming off their only double of the season so it makes no sense to bring in D’Arcy Short now if you do not own him.



Has had one good innings and two disappointing innings thus far and at his current price you would be looking at players who have a better upcoming schedule.
