Gun Show: Who's worth the big bucks?

Round 1 is just about done and dusted and gee whiz hasn’t it been a hectic start!



I hope you’re scoring well in Round 1 so far and are ready for Round 2. If you haven’t scored too well, don’t worry, chin up and let’s get you some guns to consider so you can be ready to launch into success in Round 2.



Teams on the double: Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes.



The two teams on the double for Round 2 are the Strikers and the Hurricanes so they are the obvious targets for trade ins.



It is also worth noting that the Strikers have the double in Round 3 as well so they are of a higher priority for trade ins.

Rashid Khan



The must have trade in target for this week. He is pricey but is worth including in your side.



A T20 gun bowler who delivers wherever he goes around the world. His form in the IPL recently was good too when he took 20 wickets across the series.



Looking at his BBL form, he averaged 67 SuperCoach points last season and has taken 56 wickets in 40 matches for the Strikers over his entire career.



He’s a consistent threat to take wickets and rarely gets taken down for runs by opposition sides.



You would think that at some stage across Round 2 and 3 he will take a bag of wickets, so just pick him! He can also get some quick late runs on occasion too!

Sids is not just a longer form player and has transformed into a very handy BBL player believe it or not.



Last series he had four great scores over 100 and a very healthy average of 57 SuperCoach points.



He took 19 wickets in 14 games and kept it reasonably tight conceding just over 7 runs per over.



He has worked hard to include a greater variety of deliveries into his bowling arsenal towards the twilight of his career. One to include for the Strikers run of games.

The Strikers and Australian keeper has the potential to post good SuperCoach scores. Unfortunately, he looks set to miss at least the first game due to Australia commitments, but a sneaky move might be to bring him in and hope he plays 3 out of the 4 games.



Will he bat top three in the order and can he pick up those extra points through catches and stumpings?



He hardly ever produces a stinker too as evidenced by a lowest score of 40 SC points last year.



He can go big too with scores such as 182, 132, 113 and 109 over the last two BBLs.

I’m presuming most teams had him before Round 1, but he was a disappointment when dismissed for a golden duck and going wicketless when bowling.



Kudos to those who were brave enough not to select him for Round 1. Even after underperforming, he still looms as a good trade in in Round 2 if he isn’t in your side.



Whilst not producing the score many (including myself!) wanted, the role is still very SuperCoach friendly opening the batting and bowling some spin overs. He bowled two overs against the Sixers, so he didn’t gain the economy bonus (three overs), but the signs were promising.
