Draftstars preview: Sunday NRL fixtures

Draftstars is back for Round 4 of the NRL and with it comes the chance to back your fantasy knowledge to win some cash.



For those unfamiliar with the concept, you can enter
competitions for each game for as little as $2.



You pick a squad for that game and watch the points roll in, as per an NRL SuperCoach clash.



It’s important to note however that the scoring system does
differ from SuperCoach, we’ve attached the points system at the bottom of the
page.



The main differences to note are that there’s a greater
emphasis on players with a high workrate, while attacking players aren’t
rewarded as significantly.



Tacklebreaks are worth three points, while missed tackles
are worth negative two. Kick metres are also included, so targeting dominant
long-range kickers in sides is often a strong move.



On that note, let’s look into today’s fixtures.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">BULLDOGS v DRAGONS</h2>



It’s a tough clash to predict, with both sides capable of
throwing up mixed performances. The Dogs can be resilient on their day, but
their attack is mediocre even with Kieran Foran back. I’d be targeting their
defensive players, and the outside backs at the Dragons.



GUNS



Tyson Frizell



Frizell is playing an 80 minute role in the back-row for the
first time in years. As a result he’s getting through a mountain of work and is
very capable of jagging attacking stats.



Cameron McInnes



At almost $19k you’re breaking the bank to get McInnes, but
his point scoring is so reliable he’s hard not to have. He’ll likely make 50+
tackles and can do plenty of damage through the ruck under the new rules.



STARS TO AVOID



Ben Hunt



Hunt is the obvious choice in the halves, but at $14,570 he’s
fairly expensive. There are decent players available that are capable of
scoring well. Hunt will be popular, so he may be worth dodging at that hope he
scores low against a typical grinding Bulldogs outfit.



VALUE



Adam Elliott 



Elliott is great value at $10,050 after playing just 12 minutes following a concussion against the Sea Eagles. He’ll get through a big workload and accrue strong points in the process.



COMBINATIONS



Zac Lomax and Mikaele Ravalawa



The right edge combination of the Dragons should see plenty of good ball, with Ben Hunt to control the majority of play alongside rookie halfback Adam Clune. A nice little tip on from Lomax to Ravalawa would produce some handy points.
