Hail Mary: Super PODs to rescue your rank


<p>The final round of the SuperCoach season has arrived, and we’re all looking to make up those final ranks to secure our 2022 goals.</p>



<p>For anyone needing a Hail Mary throw at the stumps play to rocket up the overall rankings to end the season, I thought I’d whip together a few options to consider.</p>



<p>For those alive in head-to-head grand finals in leagues that have their season ending this week, you might consider yourself an underdog in your match-up and need a POD to give you an upper hand.</p>



<p>I’ve come up with a few options to consider, primarily those in POD range with high ceilings and decent match-ups.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>AJ Brimson</strong></h2>



<p>I spoke in-depth about Brimson last week as my number one trade target, so I won’t elaborate here.</p>



<p>He smashed out 139 points and remains a great buy this week with a day fixture against the Warriors.</p>



<p>He’s owned by 0% of the top 100 ranked overall coaches and 2% of the top 1,000.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Murray Taulagi and Kyle Feldt</strong></h2>



<p>Some are thinking Penrith’s NSW Cup side put a fight up against the Cowboys, I’m not so convinced.</p>



<p>As good a reserve grade side as they are, it’s still a reserve grade side.</p>



<p>The Cowboys are playing potentially for a home final, but more importantly to avoid facing a full-strength Panthers outfit next week (pending Eels v Storm result).</p>



<p>As such, I think the Cowboys can amass a decent sized score here.</p>



<p>The way they attack with Scott Drinkwater’s sensational passing game the wingers get ample try-scoring opportunity, often to the detriment of the popular Val Holmes, and I think the wingers will be ripe for strong scores in this game.</p>



<p>Normally I’d prefer Taulagi to Feldt, but if Tom Dearden doesn’t return on the left edge it’ll mean Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow stays in the halves which isn’t ideal.</p>



<p>Basically, if Dearden doesn’t play I like Feldt, if he does I like Taulagi.</p>



<p>Taulagi is owned by 1% of the top 100 ranked teams overall, and 0% of the top 1,000. Feldt is unsurprisingly 0% across the board.</p>



<p>With a base of just 25, there’s plenty of risk involved in these two, so it’s only for people looking for a high upside player with minimal ownership.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Hudson Young</strong></h2>



<p>I actually really like Young as a trade target this week provided Brisbane beat the Dragons, meaning Canberra are playing for a top eight spot.</p>



<p>So if you are keen on him, leave the trade as late as possible, as he could get rested or fewer minutes if they can’t fall out of the eight.</p>



<p>A dry day game at Leichhardt Oval, with their season potentially on the line, against a depleted Tigers outfit bodes well for Young who is in stellar form.</p>



<p>He’s rocking a five round average of 84 points including two tonnes.</p>



<p>Playing outside Jack Wighton he’ll continue to see quality ball and can go large again.</p>



<p>He’s owned by 2% of the top 100 ranked teams overall and 1% of the top 1,000.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Jordan Rapana</strong></h2>



<p>Playing on the same edge as Wighton and Young, I like Rapana for all the same reasons as above.</p>



<p>Coming off a season high 120, Rapana destroyed the Sea Eagles last week and looked in vintage touch. He could repeat his heroics on Sunday afternoon.</p>



<p>Rapana is owned by 1% of the top 100 ranked teams overall, and 0% of the top 1,000</p>



<p>Note with both Rapana and Young that if you’re forced to make the trade prior to the Brisbane result, I’d avoid the trade.</p>
